Switzerland vs Turkey Prediction, Odds and Betting Tips

After two disappointing matches, Switzerland and Turkey meet, hoping to erase all the minuses with three points from this event.

There is no other choice for both Switzerland and Turkey but to win this match. Even then, these two nations won’t be safe in their battle for the knockout stage but have to rely upon luck and wait for the results of other matches. The Swiss side is in a slightly better position because of a draw against Wales that earned them one point, while on the other hand, Turkey sits at the bottom of the group without a single victory.

Preview

Switzerland

Vladimir Petkovic’s boys were trashed against Italy, who rolled over its northern neighbor 3-0. Throughout the entire game, Azzurri pressured their rivals, setting the pace and threatening Sommer, who on several occasions had luck.

This is the third time in the past five years that Switzerland allows three goals in one match. It is something that we didn’t expect to happen despite Italy having a fantastic attack and playing in superb shape. It seems that Swiss midfield completely lost the battle, allowing the opponents to impose their own style of play and dictate the tempo.

Petkovic needs to find a way to wake up his players and force them to have some sense of urgency, otherwise, Switzerland is out of the championship already in the group stage, which would be a massive blow.

Turkey

Senol Gunes’ team might be the biggest disappointment of the tournament so far. They haven’t shown anything, allowing five goals, and sitting hammered to the bottom of the group. Turkey still has some theoretical chances to advance to the knockout stage as one of the third-placed teams, but that won’t happen if they continue to play like this.

Burak Yilmaz and the rest of the forwards were inexplicably bad, not creating a single chance or anything worth mentioning throughout 180 minutes. Hakan Chalhanogly’s impact is far below the expected level.

The match against Wales was the third in the previous four in which this unit couldn’t score, which is terrible having in mind how this team played recently. Also, it is the fourth in a row in which only one side netted.

Switzerland vs Turkey Head to Head

We haven’t seen these two sides meeting for 13 years. The previous game was at the EURO 2008 held in Austria and Switzerland, and Turkey defeated the co-host of the tournament, 1-2. Ever since they didn’t meet even in the friendly matches.

Switzerland vs Turkey Pick

From what we’ve seen on this EURO 2020, Switzerland is better than Turkey. Even though they too posted some very bad results, Switzerland had some good stretches against Italy and especially against Wales, where they missed a chance to seal a win when leading.

The odds on their victory are solid, and we will back up Petkovic’s team to take all three points from this event.

Our Verdict: Switzerland wins
