Prediction, Odds & Betting tips for Liverpool vs. Manchester United at EPL
The biggest derby in England is the one between Liverpool and Manchester United. These two clubs are the country’s most successful and popular powerhouses, with a long history of fierce rivalry. At the moment, Liverpool is trying to get out of the crisis, while on the other side, United is on fire, posting some excellent results, which just a few expected to see following a terrible start the Red Devils had.
Liverpool
The Reds were better than the Wolves in the most recent game, which took place on Wednesday night. Jurgen Klopp’s crew beat the rivals 2-0, taking three points and cutting some deficit behind Tottenham, who is currently fourth in the English Premier League.
They haven’t lost in the last four Premiership challenges, winning three and recording one draw, but in the meantime, the Reds suffered brutal humiliation in the Champions League, where they lost to Real Madrid at home, 2-5. If you remember, Liverpool had a 2-0 lead before tumbling.
In four of the previous five games at Anfield, across all the competitions, Liverpool scored at least two goals. In three, they haven’t conceded a single one.
Manchester United
The Red Devils have just one defeat in the past 20 encounters and are currently on an 11-game unbeaten streak. During this interval, Erik Ten Hag and the company had nine victories and two draws, posting plenty of success.
Among others, Manchester eliminated Barcelona from the UEFA Europa League, beating Blaugrana 4-3 on aggregate. United’s offense is smooth as silk, but deadly, and the Red Devils scored multiple goals in each of those 11 games.
Marcus Rashford has been in his best form in the past few years. Apart from him, Casemiro and Anthony blended in perfectly, first bringing power in the midfield, and the latter diversifying the attack.
Liverpool: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Bajcetic, Fabinho, Henderson; Salah, Firmino, Nunez
Manchester United: De Gea; Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Shaw; Sabitzer, Fred; Sancho, Fernandes, Rashford; Weghorst
The first meeting of the year, at Trafford, ended with United triumphing 2-1. Previously, United was better during the American tour, 4-0, while last season, we saw the Reds humiliating Manchester, beating them 0-5 at Trafford and 4-0 at Anfield.
Both teams are in excellent shape when it comes to scoring. Liverpool’s defense is far from decent, while United’s seems a bit better, yet not that great at all. Due to this, goals on both ends are expected, which would be our recommendation for Sunday’s event.
Our verdict: Both teams to score
