Prediction, Odds & Betting tips for Bayern Munich vs. RB Leipzig at Bundesliga
Bayern Munich hosts RB Leipzig in a derby game in the German Bundesliga next Saturday. The hosts are fighting to stay atop the standings having 68 points, one more than their big rivals from Dortmund, Borussia. RB is third with 60 points, trying to stay in the UEFA Champions League zone because two more teams bid for one of the two spots available. Of course, some Leipzig fans still believe the Bulls can reach the title and that some miraculous development would catapult them atop the table.
Bayern Munich
The storm is not calming down in Munich, with the newest scandal going on inside the locker room. Again, the head coach is involved, with Thomas Tuchel having problems with Thomas Muller. Apparently, the former Dortmund, PSG, and Chelsea manager didn’t want Muller to start in some of the games, but the club management sided with the player and not Tuchel, and he played against Schalke.
Bayern won that one, finally regaining some of its confidence and beating the big rivals whom they don’t love at all 6-0. This was the third consecutive victory for the Bavarians, but here they finally looked convincing.
That wasn’t the case before, with them struggling to get things going. That’s how they eventually got eliminated from the UEFA Champions League and the German Cup.
RB Leipzig
The Bulls wasted points in late March, losing the chance to stay in the race for the title. Right now, the team has seven wins in the past eight contests, two in DFB Pokal, where they reached the finals, and five in Bundesliga.
They aren’t that superb away from home. Yes, lately, RB posted solid results, winning three of the most recent four outings, but in general, they have five triumphs, four losses, and a tie over the latest 10 away contests.
RB’s biggest weapon is superb counter-attacks, with them nourishing such style since becoming a prominent force in German and European football.
Bayern Munich: Sommer; Mazraoui, Pavard, De Ligt, Cancelo; Gravenberch, Kimmich; Coman, Musiala, Muller; Gnabry
RB Leipzig: Blaswich; Henrichs, Simakan, Orban, Raum; Laimer, Haidara; Szoboszlai, Olmo; Werner, Nkunku
Prior to this January’s 1-1 in Leipzig, Bayern won four times in a row over RB. In fact, they haven’t lost to the Bulls since 2018 in 11 straight events.
This should be a fun game to watch because both teams have a high offensive potential. That’s why we bet on over 2.5 goals. After all four of the recent six direct meetings between these two clubs saw at least four hits.
Our verdict: Over 2.5 goals
