Prediction, Odds & Betting Tips for Manchester United vs. Wolves at English Premier League
United kicks off its season at the Theather of Dreams, hoping to reach a dream called the Premiership title. They had a solid preseason, filled with plenty of tests, and all the players got the chance to show their worth. On the other hand, are the Wolves, who will try to stay in the league this year. The team from Molineux is one of those projected to be in the lower part of the standings, so a tough campaign is ahead of them.
Manchester United
The Red Devils had eight games this summer, playing against very tough rivals. Erik Ten Hag organized this many friendlies because he wanted to see the guys who wouldn’t get too many chances to show their qualities against top rivals like Real, Arsenal, Dortmund, etc.
United beat Arsenal, lost to Real and Dortmund, indicating that the striker position would be the biggest issue. We’ve mentioned earlier that Rashford isn’t a typical striker, capable of breaking the rivals’ defenses physically.
Though, Mason Mount’s arrival is something that could create a lot of options upfront. If he and Bruno click well, that would probably form the most dangerous midfield duo in England.
Wolves
Julen Lopetegui changed the face of the team since taking over. He allowed Raul Jimenez, who was an integral part of the Wolves over the recent several years to leave, and also, sold several other players. Meanwhile, Matheus Cunha will be his top striker now.
With Lemina, Sarabia, and a few other experienced players signed, this team might change its philosophy. Wolves had five preseason events, winning three and recording two draws.
Among others, they were better than FC Porto, 1-0, played 1-1 against Celtic, and defeated Rennes in the final test last Saturday, 3-1. For the moment, it looks as if this team has more to offer than many would think in the first place, but let’s wait a bit longer before giving any claims.
Manchester United: Onana; Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Martinez, Shaw; Mount, Casemiro, Fernandes; Antony, Rashford, Sancho
Wolves: Sa; Doherty, Dawson, Kilman, Bueno; Lemina, Hodge, Nunes; Sarabia, Cunha, Neto
United was better than the Wolves on both occasions last year, winning 0-1 on the road and 2-0 at home. When they meet, there aren’t too many goals, with six of seven past evens ending under 2.5 hits.
The Red Devils need to open the campaign with three points at home, and they have the quality to beat the guests from Wolverhampton. Wolves had plenty of changes this summer and their chemistry certainly isn’t at United’s level.
Our verdict: Manchester United wins
