Prediction, Odds & Betting Tips for Chelsea vs. Sheffield United at English Premier League
The moment we start thinking that the Blues may have found their rhythm, the team from Stamford Bridge shuts us down. There aren’t many teams in Europe with such oscillations. On the other side is Sheffield, one of the league’s worst units. The Blades are sitting last, tied with Burnley, though, having won last weekend.
Chelsea
Back-to-back losses ruined the atmosphere at Stamford. They now have only one victory over the past five events, losing three of them. After suffering a devastating defeat at St. James’ Park to Newcastle, 4-1, they were better than Brighton, 3-2.
But afterward, we saw Chelsea beaten by the hands of Manchester United, 2-1, and Everton, 2-0, both times away from home. This caused the Blues to slip all the way down to the 12th position in the standings.
Five of their previous six meetings have seen three or more goals and both teams scoring. Four of those clashes ended with five hits. Some of them were wins, some losses, proving that the Blues don’t have a shred of consistency.
Sheffield United
The Blades are last in the league. If it is of any consolation, they are level with Burnley with eight points apiece, and they are coming off a victory. Sheffield was better than Brentford in the most recent EPL round, 1-0.
This is a big morale-booster after three consecutive defeats, where Paul Heckingbottom’s crew scored just once. However, looking at Sheffield’s road performances this year, there is little to hope for.
In seven of them, the Blades have managed to collect only one point, which was against Brighton a month ago. All other meetings ended with their defeat and at least two goals conceded.
Chelsea: Sanchez; James, Disasi, Silva, Colwill; Caicedo, Fernandez; Sterling, Gallagher, Palmer; Jackson
Sheffield United: Foderingham; Ahmedhodzic, Trusty, Thomas; Bogle, Hamer, Souza, Lowe; McAtee, Archer; Osula

Chelsea and Sheffield met three times during the 2020/21 season. Two games were in the EPL, and Chelsea triumphed in both, 4-1 at Stamford and 1-2 at Bramall, while one saw them clashing the FA Cup, and the Blues ended up on the winning side there as well, 2-0.
Despite Chelsea’s unpredictable nature and all of their problems and flaws, we can’t see anything other than their victory in this case. The difference between them and the Blades is huge in every aspect of the game. Seeing anything other than the Blues’ comfortable triumph will be a massive sensation. After all, they are playing against the last-placed unit in the Premiership.
Our verdict: Chelsea wins
