Prediction, Odds & Betting Tips for Liverpool vs. Newcastle at English Premier League
Will the Reds manage to exploit Newcastle’s recent troubles? Liverpool is in solid shape despite back-to-back failures at home. When saying “failures,” we mean they couldn’t defeat Manchester United and Arsenal but had to settle with ties. On the other hand, things are good for the Magpies, who have been in a total slump since the start of December. If they don’t bounce back during holidays, their title ambitions will be crushed.
Liverpool
After back-to-back ties at home, Liverpool will have a chance to return on the right track with a win against one of the top teams in England. Jurgen Klopp and his crew made a good intro for this matchup with a victory over Burnley on the road.
They were better than the Clarets at Turf Moore 0-2, confidently solving the rivals, and even though the result wasn’t too convincing, Liverpool’s display on the field was.
The Reds are incredibly strong at home, having seven victories and two draws in nine appearances. Up until the matches against Arsenal and Manchester United, they’ve scored at least twice in each contest, regardless of the competition.
Newcastle
What can we say about Newcastle that you already don’t know. The Magpies have three consecutive losses, six of them in the previous seven events, with the sole victory coming against Fulham.
They have experienced an elimination from the UEFA Champions League and, shortly after, from the English Football League Cup, the competition in which they reached the finals last year.
On top of that, Eddie Howe’s crew suffered a very unpleasant defeat at Saint James’s Park this Tuesday when Nottingham Forest blew away the Magpies, 1-3.

The Reds were one of the few teams last season who managed to defeat Newcastle in both of their meetings. That trend also continued this season, with Liverpool triumphing at St. James’ Park near the end of August, 1-2.
Just to remind you, Newcastle had a player more on the field and was leading before Darwin Nunez stunned the home fans in the finish. The Uruguayan netted twice in the final 10 minutes of the event.
We don’t believe the Reds can fail to win in three consecutive matches at Anfield Road. Especially in a situation when the rivals are experiencing massive problems and a significant drop in their form. From our point of view, Liverpool should take all three points here, which will be our final pick for this matchup.
Our verdict: Liverpool wins
