This generation of the Devils’ players have one last shot of making something big. Some of the older stars like Hazard, Kompany, and others are already retired, while De Bruyne and a few other veterans still chase the dream of winning a big title for their country.

England vs. Belgium Preview

England

England plays good football these days, but this game won’t be about the result. Yes, the opponent is a world-class team, but Gareth Southgate will try to develop tactics and solutions for some situations that might occur in Germany.

The Three Lions have a masterful attack, with several extremely pacey players who have been playing together for quite some time. The defense is one of the best in Europe, and we don’t need to speak about that part too much. After all, they allowed only four goals in eight meetings during the group stage.

Southgate probably plans to start with a bit of a mixed lineup, where he wants to give a chance to some players who aren’t starters. But even so, the English team has enormous quality.

Belgium

The Devils haven’t lost in the last 11 games. They had a rather embarrassing appearance at the World Cup in Qatar and ended their participation in the group stage with one win, a loss, and a tie. That was a huge disappointment for the entire nation.

Believe it or not, the problem for the Belgian unit then was a very poor attack, with them netting just one goal during 270 minutes of play. Romelu Lukaku had some pretty odd mistakes and misses, but it seems that the robust striker overcame that crisis.

Lately, the defense has been stepping up, collecting five clean sheets in seven previous encounters. They were unbeaten in the qualifiers, winning six matches with two ties and a 22-4 goal difference.

England vs. Belgium Predictions

The game should be fun, no matter the lineups and all the experiments. Both sides have massive offensive potential, with superstars upfront, which is why we expect to see at least one goal on each end.

Our verdict: Both teams to score
