Prediction, Odds & Betting Tips for Wales vs. Poland at Euro 2024 Qualification
Wales and Poland are going to battle for the spot at the EURO 2024 in Germany. The Dragons have a home-court edge in this event, which is a big advantage, but on the other side, Poland is experienced enough to erase that. This is a game with high stakes, and the slightest mistake could have a massive impact. And that’s what everybody loves to see.
Wales
The Dragons love European championships, and in recent times, we have regularly seen them appear in the continental tournament. They have a nice chance to participate once more at the same, and all they need to do is beat the Polish side. Of course, that is much easier to say than do.
Wales is without a loss for seven straight when counting in the friendly games, winning four and posting three ties. One of the wins was against Croatia, and later on, they had a tie against Armenia on the road and Turkey at home, which allowed them to enter the playoffs.
The previous four meetings this team had were all with both teams netting, which is more or less frequent when Wales plays. However, at one point, the team had problems with the attack, which was especially noticeable at the World Cup in Qatar.
Poland
The Poles haven’t lost for the past five, having three triumphs and two ties, and overall have just two defeats in the recent ten appearances, with six victories and those two draws.
Poland is a team with a few veterans and pretty much a young team, with the players who are near their prime years. Of course, Lewandowski and Zielinski are two of the top stars, with the remaining guys playing for solid teams having decent roles.
They play hard football and games played by the Polish unit are usually inefficient. Only two of the last ten have seen three or more goals, and six ended with just one side netting.
Wales: Ward; Mepham, Rodon, Davies; Roberts, Ampadu, Levitt, Williams; Wilson, Johnson; Moore
Poland: Szczesny; Bereszynski, Bednarek, Kiwior; Cash, Zielinski, S. Szymanski, D. Szymanski, Frankowski; Lewandowski, Piatek
The two sides met in the UEFA Nations League back in 2022, with the Poles beating the Dragons on both occasions. The score was 2-1 at home and 0-1 in Wales. When we look further back in the past, Wales has been without a win against the Polish unit since 1973.
We don’t know who is going to win this one, but on the other side, we are pretty sure that there won’t be too many goals, two at most. The stakes are high, as said, and also, Poland comes to play a tough and tactical matchup, and we believe Wales won’t be eager to open up despite playing at home.
Our verdict: Under 2.5 goals
