Prediction, Odds & Betting Tips for Nottingham Forest vs. Manchester City at English Premier League
Both Forest and City see this event as the finale. Why? The hosts are one point above the relegation zone, while City needs to win three points to move back into the first place in the standings. The present imperative on both ends makes this a must-watch game and also a must-cover.
Nottingham Forest
Forest has nothing to lose here. There isn’t a way out for them but winning until the end. That’s the only solution for their Premiership status. Hanging above Luton, with one point more, the former European champions can feel the heat, and they have to do the impossible—beat the champions.
Nottingham has only one victory in the past ten games. Six of them ended with losses. So, you can imagine the situation in their locker room. Plus, they are under enormous pressure, which can be counterproductive in some situations.
Though, at home, they have three in a row without a loss, two of them ties and one a victory. They played 1-1 against Palace and 2-2 vs. Wolves, while beating Fulham in between, 3-1. Forest has only one clean sheet in the last 15 home games across all the competitions.
Manchester City
City survived Chelsea in the FA Cup semis, thus somewhat recovering from the Champions League exit against Real Madrid. However, they played far beneath the expectations and their quality. Chelsea was close to taking this event in a completely different direction.
This will be the Citizens’ second consecutive road event, having previously faced Brighton at the Amex stadium. But we can’t talk about fatigue now or about the injury problems because Guardiola has the deepest roster in the league.
Up until that trip, we haven’t seen them lose 13 straight events. In 11 of them, Man City was on the winning side, while two ended without winners. Apart from three, the Citizens have netted two or more hits in all others.
Nottingham Forest: Sels; Williams, Omobamidele, Murillo, Aina; Danilo, Yates; Reyna, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi; Wood
Manchester City: Ederson; Walker, Dias, Stones, Gvardiol; Silva, Rodri, De Bruyne; Foden, Haaland, Doku
City was victorious at the Etihad in September, 2-0. Everything was solved in the opening 14 minutes. At first, Foden scored following seven minutes of play, and Haaland set the final result in the 14th. Last year’s meeting at City Ground concluded with a 1-1 tie.
Forest has been struggling against much easier rivals than Man City. But they don’t have any other choice here but to be aggressive and try to make a surprise. City’s position is already known, and they too, don’t have the room for calculations. We expect them to triumph here and keep their top spot.
Our verdict: Manchester City wins
