Prediction, Odds & Betting Tips for Manchester City vs. Fulham at English Premier League
The Citizens have been slowed down over the past three weeks, and they need some sort of a spark. Injuries have shredded their roster and Guardiola needs to invent an effective solution to cover up all the problems. Fulham posted back-to-back wins and has no pressure ahead of the event at the Etihad.
Manchester City
Rodri is out for the season, and De Bruyne is out for some time. This is a huge blow for Guardiola and his team. He has enough players on his roster, but on the other hand, we need to admit that the previously mentioned duo is irreplaceable.
We saw that against Newcastle when Haaland looked average. He didn’t get any key passes from other players nor was he in the position to score after getting a served ball in front of him.
This is a chance for Foden, Kovacic, and Gundogan to take the wheel. While the latter has already experienced replacing De Bruyne, Kovacic needs to fill in for Rodri, which will be a challenge.
Fulham
The Cottagers had two tough games and won both. Their first rivals were Newcastle at Craven Cottage, and the Magpies were defeated 3-1. After that, Fulham went to Nottingham, where they squeezed out a minimal victory, 0-1.
This was the second meeting in the past eight in which the team from London kept clean sheets. Four events prior to this one were with both teams netting.
Overall, the Cottagetrs’ matches have been inefficient this year. Six of eight games in all competitions had seen under 2.5 hits. That’s a clear sign that this team likes a conservative approach on the pitch and to slow down the pace.
Manchester City: Ortega; Lewis, Stones, Akanji, Gvardiol; Nunes, Kovacic; Silva, Foden, Doku; Haaland
Fulham: Leno; Tete, Andersen, Bassey, Robinson; Berge, Pereira; Nelson, Smith Rowe, Iwobi; Jimenez
City was ruthless against Fulham last season. The goal difference in two Premier League games was 9-1 in favor of the champions: 5-1 at the Etihad and 0-4 at Craven.
The Citizens have 16 consecutive victories against Fulham.
The Citizens are in trouble, but we don’t believe in anything else except their victory. Even without Rodri and De Bruyne, this team is significantly higher quality than the upcoming rival, and it plays at home. Fulham is a tough nut to crack, and they aren’t allowing too many chances, yet the Magpies can’t be compared to the Citizens right now. Simply, the home team is better even without two of its top stars.
Our verdict: Manchester City wins
