Prediction, Odds & Betting Tips for Liverpool vs. Manchester City at English Premier League
On one side, Liverpool has five straight wins, while Man City posted five consecutive defeats. But even so, this is the absolute derby of the entire weekend in the whole of Europe. These two teams have developed a rivalry over the last few years, and given that the Citizens are reigning EPL champs and that Liverpool sits first in the standings now, we have everything to call this a spectacle.
Liverpool
The Reds have been more than confident these days. Up to the previous weekend, we saw them not losing for 13 straight matches, of which they’ve won 12. Now, that’s one hell of a form. Arne Slot leads this unit perfectly for the moment, and to be honest, Liverpool also has fewer injuries than in previous years. And that’s also a reason for the current situation.
Five of Liverpool’s previous six events have been with three or more goals, and in all of them, the Reds have netted at least twice. That pretty much tells us how efficient their attack is.
What might be turbulence is Mo Salah’s discontent with the fact that he still hasn’t received a contract offer from management.
Manchester City
Now, the word “discontent” is all over Manchester City, starting with their performances, chemistry, current results, and position in the EPL standings. We haven’t seen City in this slump for at least five years, if not more.
They have five straight losses, all of them which saw Guardiola’s defense allowing at least two goals. But the back line isn’t the only problem here, nor the biggest one, because the whole team isn’t playing as it should.
The efficiency of City’s games is high. Only one over the past ten didn’t end with three or more hits, and six saw goals on both ends of the field.
Liverpool: Kelleher; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Diaz; Nunez
Manchester City: Ederson; Walker, Akanji, Stones, Ake; Nunes, Lewis; Savinho, De Bruyne, Grealish; Haaland
Both direct matchups these teams had last year ended without winners and with the same result: 1-1.
When it comes to scoring and efficiency, we’ve noticed that the past four have also ended with both teams netting.
The Reds are favorites, and even though they had a tough challenge this midweek against Real Madrid, and many believe they may be tired, we would still bet on their victory here. We respect City, and we aren’t underestimating them because that would be stupid, but overall, this pick has a huge value when looking at the odds, the form, and the current performances.
Our verdict: Liverpool wins
