Prediction, Odds & Betting Tips for PSG vs. Bayern Munich at FIFA Club World Cup
The two European titans collide in the United States in the FIFA Club World Cup quarterfinals. There wasn’t a more exciting matchup in the tournament so far, and it’s quite understandable to see the fans super-excited ahead of the kick-off. PSG is a light favorite, though nothing special. Bayern has been playing very good football since the start of the competition, so this should be a fun game to watch.
PSG
The Saints were routine against Inter Miami, winning 4-0. They showed controlled power, scoring all four hits inside the 45 minutes and later on moving the foot off the gas pedal and closing the game without any problems.
This was the third win for Luis Enrique’s boys in America. All three were without a goal conceded, while on the other end, PSG netted 10 times. The sole defeat was against Botafogo, 0-1, but even in that one, we saw the Saints playing good football.
There isn’t too much to say about PSG’s form. The French team has won in eight of the last nine games, which tells enough about their form. All of these contests included PSG netting at least twice.
Bayern Munich
Bayern opened the tournament, beating Auckland City 10-0. After that, they would beat Boca Juniors 2-1 and lose to Benfica 0-1. The latter could be deliberate in order to avoid Chelsea in the Round of 16.
Kompany’s unit won five of the last 6 games, keeping clean sheets in three. All of them, apart from the one vs. Benfica, ended with the Bavarians netting twice. The Belgian head coach finally understood the importance of constant attacking and not inhibiting Bayern’s offensive potential.
Bayern won’t be defensive, even though PSG stands on the other end of the field. They don’t know how to play like that, nor do they have the players for anything but constant pressure and attack.
PSG: Donnarumma; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Mendes; Ruiz, Vitinha, Neves; Kvaratskhelia, Ramos, Doue
Bayern Munich: Neuer; Laimer, Tah, Upamecano, Guerreiro; Goretzka, Kimmich; Olise, Musiala, Coman; Kane
PSG met with Bayern in the league stage of the UCL and lost in Munich, 1-0. The previous four meetings between these clubs have seen Bayern win, which boosts the morale of the German team, while on the other side, it fuels PSG’s desire to win.
The Saints are favorites, and we believe they will beat Bayern. Why? Because they have more firepower than the Germans and more stable defense. If both teams enter an open gunfight, and they will, PSG comes out as the winner.
Our verdict: PSG wins
