Prediction, Odds & Betting Tips for Liverpool vs. Arsenal at English Premier League
This is the game of the week, as two top title contenders clash at Anfield. Liverpool hosts Arsenal in what could have a great impact on the final standings, even though it’s still early on. Both teams have tremendous firepower and are probably the most potent Premier League teams in terms of offense. On one side are Salah, Ekitike, Gakpo, Wirtz, on the other, Gyokeres, Saka, Madueke, and now Eze.
Liverpool
Teenage sensation Ngumoha saved the Reds in the 100th minute of the game in Newcastle, scoring a game-winner in the moments when the Magpies attacked, having the momentum following an equalizer.
Liverpool took three points, although it’s worth noting that the champions didn’t look particularly confident in this matchup. Wirtz was pale, as was the back line. Meanwhile, Mohamed Salah didn’t play at his usual level, despite assisting in the final moments of the event.
One tradition remained, and that was a high number of goals. In the last 8 matches Liverpool played, counting in the preseason, all saw both teams scoring and at least 4 goals, which is impressive. So far in two EPL fixtures, the Reds have scored 7 times, conceding 5 hits.
Arsenal
After a tight win against Manchester United at Old Trafford, 0-1, Arsenal crushed Leeds at home. They beat the Peacocks 5-0, showcasing their full power and sending a message to Liverpool ahead of this battle.
Viktor Gyokeres was the man alongside Jurien Timber, with the two netting a brace each. Timber added an assist too, while Calafiori had two. So all in all, this was a perfect day for the Gunners, who looked impressive.
We might see Eze in this one, as Palace’s winger replaced Selhurst for the Emirates this midweek. He should make the team from London even stronger, particularly in attack and transition. He is one of the fastest and most skilled wingers in England, and undoubtedly, a huge boost for Arsenal’s defense.
Liverpool: Alisson; Szoboszlai, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Wirtz, Gakpo; Ekitike
Arsenal: Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Odegaard, Zubimendi, Rice; Saka, Gyokeres, Martinelli
Both games ended in a tie during the previous season, with the same result: 2-2. Overall, the last four all saw over 2.5 goals and both teams netting.
Arteta will wait for the counter-attack, but there’s too much offensive power on both ends not to see high efficiency here, plus there is a tradition in recent games to see a high number of goals. Our final bet here is over 2.5.
Our verdict: Over 2.5 goals
