Prediction, Odds & Betting Tips for Tottenham vs. Coventry at English Premier League

EPL Gameweek 7 ends in London, where Tottenham hosts Coventry. Who would have thought that after 6 games, the guests would sit higher on the table than the Spurs, who are currently in the relegation zone without a single win. Needless to say, the hosts face massive pressure here, three points are imperative not just because of their current position in the EPL standings, but also because Coventry is a team well below their level of reputation.

Tottenham
In 8 games this year, Tottenham has won only one. And that was in the EFL Cup against Charlton. In 6 EPL clashes, Roberto De Zerbi’s boys posted three ties and losses, but if it’s of any consolation, we do need to say their schedule was pretty rough as it included Newcastle, Everton, Aston Villa and most recently Manchester United.
The Spurs had the Red Devils in the opening 45 minutes, yet missed numerous chances. The game eventually ended 1-1, and it was the third straight time Tottenham played with both teams scoring.
Tottenham has the worst offense in the league, scoring only three goals in 6 appearances. They haven’t conceded many, only 9, which is solid, but the attack is problematic and the main reason why this team didn’t record a single victory.
Coventry
Frank Lampard is proud of how his team played against Newcastle last Monday night. They rolled over the Magpies, winning 4-1 and showing clinical finishing against the higher-placed rivals.
They were the ones who used the smallest chance to score or gain an edge on the field. And to be honest, had plenty of luck with all of the goals. As a result came the second victory in a row, the first at home in the EPL this year. Previously, Coventry beat Nottingham Forest 0-1.
Many didn’t realize that, when these guys opened the campaign with 4 straight losses, their schedule was probably the toughest in the league. Lampard faced Arsenal, Manchester City, and Brighton among other rivals.
Tottenham: Kinsky; Gray, van Hecke, Senesi, Udogie; Tonalo, Bergvall; Savio, Gallagher, Kudus, Solanke
Coventry: Rushworth; Van Ewijk, Thomas, Pinnock, DaSilva; Yirenkyi, Grimes; Thomas, Rudoni, Mason-Clark, Cherif
In September 2024, these teams met in the EFL Cup, and Tottenham advanced following a shocking finish. Coventry led 1-0 until the 88th minute, when Djed Spence equalized, and Brennan Johnson scored a game-winner in the second minute of stoppage time.
If Tottenham plays as they did against United on Saturday, we are more than sure the Spurs will finally add the first notch to their win column. Coventry has the momentum, but let’s face it: this team is limited, and they had plenty of luck beating the Magpies, despite the high scoreline.
Our verdict: Tottenham
