Prediction, Odds & Betting Tips for Ajax vs. Brighton at Europa League
The Lancers are in problems, and it seems their rebuild isn’t going as planned. One of the biggest European clubs is experiencing a very bad season, and for the moment, it seems that they don’t have the tools to make it better. Brighton is currently trying to get out of a crisis. The Seagulls had a nasty challenge this weekend against Everton, which ended without winners.
Ajax
With two wins in a row, Ajax seems a bit better these days. At first, the Lancers were better than Volendam, 2-0, and Heerenveen afterward, 4-1. Despite these results, we can’t say that the team from Amsterdam Arena made a step forward because both of these rivals are more or less mediocre.
The team is very young, but unlike the past times, we don’t see a major talent on the roster. A couple of years ago, teenagers led Ajax in the Champions League, posting fantastic results, which isn’t the case right now.
Ajax’s games at home are usually efficient, with only one in the past five failing to reach three goals. Three of those contests finished with four hits, and during that span, Ajax had just one clean sheet.
Brighton
Roberto de Zerbi’s boys have been without a loss for three consecutive matches. Still, the downside is that the Seagulls, recorded just one victory. After beating Ajax at home, we’ve seen them play 1-1 against Fulham at home and Everton on the road.
Following a fantastic start of the season, Brighton slowed down. Over the past ten encounters, the team from Amex Stadium recorded only two victories. Along that, we’ve seen them lose three times, and post four ties.
Brighton’s matches are always interesting and exciting. Eight in those ten saw both teams netting, and six over 2.5 hits.
Ajax: Ramaj; Gaaei, Sutalo, Avila, Hato; van den Boomen, Taylor; Bergwijn, Hlynsson, Berghuis; Brobbey
Brighton & Hove Albion: Steele; Veltman, Dunk, Webster, Milner; Gilmour, Baleba; Fati, Gross, Mitoma; Ferguson
The first meeting between these two units ended with Brighton’s routine 2-0 victory. For one moment during those 90 minutes, we didn’t see the Lancers being competitive or endangering the English crew.
That’s the only time in history these two clubs met.
Ajax doesn’t know how to defend, and even if they wanted to, it would be impossible. Also, when they play at Amsterdam Arena, the fans demand an offensive approach, which, in this case, creates an excellent environment for high efficiency. Brighton will attack, that’s for sure, so when combining this and the fact that Ajax has no other option but to be aggressive as well, over 2.5 goals is a must here.
Our verdict: Over 2.5 goals
