Prediction, Odds & Betting Tips for Amanda Lemos vs. Virna Jandiroba at UFC Fight Night
The ladies’ strawweight division is improving rapidly, and right now, two of the rising names in the rankings, Amanda Lemos and Virna Jandiroba, are about to clash this weekend in a battle that could easily produce the next title challenger. While Lemos already attacked the throne once, Jandiroba didn’t, and she sees her chance to secure a shot at the belt with a win here. Meanwhile, Lemos wants to cement her place as the leading challenger, which would open the door to another battle with the champion, Zhang Weili.
Amanda Lemos
Amanda Lemos is a dynamic striker renowned for her explosive finishes and relentless offensive pressure. There aren’t too many girls in the organization with a pace like the Brazilian, who racked up 14 wins in 18 MMA appearances, with three defeats and one tie.
On the downside, she’s average on the mat and has numerous vulnerabilities when battling on the ground. We saw that in the past, in the two most recent bots Lemos had against Weili and Mackenzie Dern, whom she defeated, unlike Weili, but with too many problems.
According to the sources within her surroundings, Lemos has been working a lot to improve its grappling and wrestling. Though, we’ll see whether she improved herself.
Virna Jandiroba
Opposite Lemos, Jandiroba is a dominant grappler whose success came mostly from her skills on the mat. In 23 matches, she has 20 wins, and 13 of them were via submissions. Therefore, she has to try to impose her own rhythm and style against Lemos, who, as stated before, is extremely vulnerable on the ground.
Jandiroba’s last setback was a decision loss to Amanda Ribas in 2021. Since then, the resilient Brazilian has rebounded triumphantly, securing three consecutive victories against formidable opponents Angela Hill, Marina Rodriguez, and, most recently, Loopy Godinez. All of these three victories came after a unanimous decision.
She was never defeated by a stoppage, and all three losses were due to a decision. Mackenzie Dern and Carla Esparza were responsible for the other two failures.
This is a battle of two completely different styles, with Lemos being a striker and Jandiroba a grappler. The latter is, in our opinion, much closer to victory. Why? She has better cardio than Lemos, and we saw that in the past when Jandiroba managed to outpace her most recent rivals and get decision victories. Her strategy will likely involve repeated attempts to neutralize Lemos and execute takedowns. From that point on, it will be much easier for her.
Our verdict: Jandiroba wins
