Prediction, Odds & Betting tips for Arsenal vs. Southampton at EPL
The Saints try to survive in the Premiership, while on the other side, Arsenal wants to win the title and beat all the odds. Before the year began, the Gunners weren’t among the top five favorites for the trophy, but Mikel Arteta and the boys proved all the bookmakers wrong. On the other hand, Southampton changed its owners but fell to the last place in the standings. There is little time for Saints to make things right, and the margin for error is way too narrow for this unit.
Arsenal
The Gunners have been in problems even though they haven’t lost for a while. Arsenal couldn’t beat Liverpool and West Ham, playing 2-2 against both of these units on the road, and suffering a colossal morale-killer against the Reds, after losing a two-goal edge at Anfield.
It was obvious that the Gunners didn’t recover versus Hammers, repeating the same scenario as in Liverpool, opening the game perfectly and wasting a 0-2 advantage again.
We are yet to see the state of mind in Arsenal’s locker room, but even if it is bad, Arteta has to wake up the players and explain the situation. In the past four Premiership games at home, Arsenal scored 15 goals.
Southampton
The Saints are coming to Emirates to take away at least one point. Yes that looks like mission impossible, but Southampton has no other option. Right now, they’ve lost three events in a row, the latest two at home.
Southampton’s last win was in early March, once they defeated Leicester 1-0, so it’s no wonder seeing them stuck at the bottom. With 23 points, they have four fewer than Everton, the first team above the relegation zone.
Regarding the efficiency of the Saints’ events away from home, the recent four had been with one or no goals. Interestingly, during this stretch, there was a win over Chelsea, 0-1, and a draw at Old Trafford, 0-0.
Arsenal: Ramsdale; White, Holding, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Xhaka, Partey; Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli; Jesus
Southampton: Bazunu; Walker-Peters, Bednarek, Bella-Kotchap, Perraud; Diallo, Ward-Prowse; Walcott, Alcaraz, Sulemana; Mara
The first clash this season saw a draw at St. Mary’s 1-1. Xhaka scored the opener in the 11th minute, but Armstrong leveled in the second half. Arsenal was better in the latest event at the Emirates, 3-0.
There is no need to explain why this game is so important for the Gunners, and even though it has a similar significance for the guests, betting on the hosts is the only right choice. They are better, have the home-court advantage and must take three points.
Our verdict: Arsenal wins
