Prediction, Odds & Betting Tips for AS Roma vs. Lazio at Serie A
The Rome derby is one of the biggest in the world. The city itself has an incredible history and swag, and having two world-class teams like Roma and Lazio only adds to its uniqueness. These two units are after the UEFA Champions League spot for the next season, and right now, Roma is in a better position, sitting fifth in the standings, six points ahead of its rivals.
Roma
As stated, Roma is in a bit better situation, but Il Lupi needs to win and keep on chasing Bologna, who is fourth, having five points more. Also, Atalanta is breathing down their neck, two points behind, yet with a game in hand.
De Rossi’s unit wasted a very good chance to make its position much more comfortable, playing without goals in Lecce and taking only one point. Their previous five games saw two wins, two ties, and one loss, and four during this span saw just one side netting.
However, when playing at Olimpico, Il Lupi have four wins in a row, counting the Europa League. In two, they didn’t allow a goal, and in three, we saw them netting at least three times.
Lazio
Lazio’s form was on the decline, but the recent two events gave hope to the Eagles, who won them both. The first was in Frosinone, 2-3, and the second was last weekend’s triumph over Juventus, whom they defeated with a minimal result, 1-0.
A win over Bayern in the first leg of the UCL Round of 16 fired the Eagles, who would sacrifice a lot to prepare for the rematch, losing plenty of matches in Serie A and slipping down in the standings. At one point, they had five defeats in six meetings.
The defense is highly unstable, allowing goals all the time and showing an incredibly high inconsistency. Even the “weaker” teams have managed to score against Lazio, which presents a big headache for head coach Sarri.
Roma: Svilar; Karsdorp, Mancini, Ndicka, Angelino; Cristante, Paredes, Pellegrini; Zalewski, Lukaku, El Shaarawy
Lazio: Mandas; Casale, Romagnoli, Gila; Marusic, Kamada, Cataldi, Pellegrini; Zaccagni, Alberto; Immobile

Lazio was better in the first meeting of the season, beating the archrivals, 1-0. The only scorer was Zaccagni from the penalty in the 51st minute. Last four encounters have seen one or no goals, while seven of the previous eight ended with just one side netting.
With De Rossi, Roma is playing differently, and the nominal hosts will attack here, that’s for sure. On the other side, Lazio’s defense is fragile, and the Eagles have to rely upon the attack. Plus, Roma isn’t playing some tough defense, which is why we pick both teams scoring.
Our verdict: Both teams scoring
