Prediction, Odds & Betting Tips for Aston Villa vs. Manchester City at English Premier League
Villa beat both the odds and Tottenham on Sunday, managing to get out of London with three points after a very tough and demanding event. As for City, we didn’t see anything flashy against Everton, but they won, and Erling Haaland is in solid shape. Both of these teams are in excellent form ahead of this event, posting successive victories.

Aston Villa
The Villains opened the season with six games without a win across all competitions. But Emery’s unit rose after that, winning five matches in a row, three of them in the Premier League.
They were better than Tottenham in London, 1-2, recovering following a shocking start where Spurs took the lead. As time went by, Villains managed to equalize and eventually take the lead, closing this contest confidently and beating their direct rivals for the spot on the international stage.
The last four wins Villa posted saw them netting at least twice, but we need to point out that their defense looks unstable. Only three clean sheets in the previous 10 contests is way too low for their ambitions.
Manchester City
Beating Everton 2-0 was the fourth win in the past 5 games for Guardiola’s machinery. Another good thing here is that Citizens posted their second straight clean sheet. They already have five in the past 8, which is a sign that the defense is starting to click.
As for other things on the field, Haaland had a brace against the Toffees, and he looks on fire as well. The Norwegian player posted excellent performances before and during the international break, and it seems that City’s striker finally got over his “breakup” with De Bruyne.
Just a few realize that the Citizens sit second in the EPL standings, three steps behind Arsenal, with the best offense in the league once again and the second-best defense.
Aston Villa: Martinez; Cash, Konsa, Torres, Digne; Kamara, Onana; Malen, McGinn, Rogers; Watkins
Manchester City: Donnarumma; Nunes, Stones, Gvardiol, O’Reilly; Gonzalez; Bobb, Silva, Foden, Doku; Haaland
City and Villa subsequently won direct matches at home against the upcoming rival. Last year, we saw the same result in Manchester and Birmingham, 2-1. Also, we have to add that in 8 of the previous 9 games, both teams have scored and that over 2.5 goals took place in 7 matches during that span.
Aston Villa looks great, yet it still allows goals frequently. Meanwhile, the Villains score goals as well, and since they have a home-field edge here, we expect to see them be very aggressive. City is in excellent shape, though it’s expected to see their defense under pressure as well, so all in all, the best pick here would be both teams to score and over 2.5 goals.
Our verdict: Both teams to score & Over 2.5 goals
