Prediction, Odds & Betting tips for Barcelona vs. Sevilla at LaLiga
Barcelona and Sevilla meet on Sunday night, in one of the most interesting events this weekend. The team from Catalonia is topping the standings and wants to stay that way. Blaugrana has craved for a notable trophy for quite some time, and this is the season that could break the drought. On the other side,, Sevilla is near the bottom, which nobody expected. They had a very slow start, and to be honest, certain things happened which couldn’t be prevented.
Barcelona
Xavi created one pretty nasty and formidable unit, able to withstand Real’s pace and pressure in the title race. For the moment, Barcelona looks very good, especially their defense, which didn’t allow a goal in four straight events until the previous week.
Also, Barca didn’t lose since mid-October, and a 0-3 defeat at home to Bayern, but since then, the team has evolved in several aspects of play.
When looking at the home games, eight of the past 10 were with just one side netting, and on seven occasions, Barcelona was the side that didn’t allow a goal. The past four ended with under 2.5 hits, and that’s new Barcelona, something different than before.
Sevilla
The thing with Rojoblancos was that they had problems a few days before the season began. Kounde forced the team to sell him with the campaign knocking on the door, and a few other players in the back line were injured. Sevilla didn’t have time to find replacements, so the results were poor.
Only recently did this team manage to catch some rhythm and post a few positive results in a row. Counting in Copa del Rey events, in the past nine, Sevilla won six, lost two, and had one draw.
Rojoblancos are mediocre on the road, and in nine La Liga outings, they had two wins, three draws, and four defeats, with a goal difference of 11 wins and 14 losses.
Barcelona: Ter Stegen; Kounde, Araujo, Christensen, Balde; F de Jong, Busquets, Pedri; Dembele, Lewandowski, Fati
Sevilla: Bounou; Bade, Nianzou, Rekik; Navas, Fernando, Jordan, Acuna; Lamela, En-Nesyri, Rakitic
Barcelona didn’t lose in the past five events, winning four and having one draw. In all the victories, Blaugrana didn’t allow a single goal which is impressive. There was one contest this year, at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, where Barca tore apart the hosts, 0-3.
We are all in on Barca’s win because Xavi and the boys can’t afford anything else than winning three points. Other outcomes could cost them the title. Apart from that, Blaugrana is much better than the visitors, which is another reason for betting on Barca’s triumph.
Our verdict: Barcelona wins
