Prediction, Odds & Betting Tips for Bayern Munich vs. Liverpool at Club Friendlies
Two European greats, Bayern Munich and Liverpool, will meet in Singapore in what would be their final big test before the start of the domestic activities. This is the ultimate preseason event for either unit, meaning there won’t be any calculations. We expect both Tuchel and Klopp to go out with 100% of their power and boost the morale of their players and fans with a win over a big rival.
Bayern Munich
The Bavarians experienced an unpleasant truth against Manchester City. They aren’t among the elite echelon of teams in Europe anymore. Of course, that can change throughout the campaign, but right now, the German champs couldn’t compete with City, who was playing without several of its players and with a mixed rotation.
The offense will be a key problem for Tuchel. He needs to find a solution for that part of the team and doesn’t have too much time. Plenty of chances are missed, primarily because Bayern needs a typical striker. Lewandowski’s departure massacred this unit.
Also, Tuchel himself needs to adapt to certain matters, like the offensive-minded approach, because he tends to be more oriented on defense. When Bayern plays, that isn’t acceptable.
Liverpool
The Reds opened the preseason test with high-scoring affairs against two German teams, Karlruher and Greuter Furth. Yes, they scored eight goals, but on the other side, allowed six, further extending the fans’ frustration because of the backline’s inconsistency.
Liverpool won the title a couple of years ago because of a ferocious defense, with Virgil Van Dijk on its head. All four guys in the back line were fantastic, but lately, they look mediocre.
Klopp made certain changes to its roster, allowing Keita and Henderson to leave, as well as Firmino. But on the other side, he finally has the entire team healthy and at his disposal, with a few newcomers, most notably Dominik Szoboszlai.
Bayern Munich: Sommer; Pavard, Kim, Upamecano, Davies; Kimmich, Gravenberch; Sane, Musiala, Coman; Gnabry
Liverpool: Alisson; Gomez, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Mac Allister, Alexander-Arnold, Szoboszlai; Salah, Nunez, Diaz
The Bavarians and the Reds met for the last time in the 2019 Round of 16. After a goalless draw at Anfield, Liverpool defeated Bayern in Munich, 1-3. Prior to that, they met in the European Super Cup, when Liverpool had more success, winning 3-2.
This should be a high-scoring affair, with both sides having specific issues with defense and its performances. Meanwhile, the respective attacks have been fantastic and far better than the opposite backlines.
Our verdict: Over 2.5 goals
