Prediction, Odds & Betting tips for Brighton vs. Liverpool at EPL
Brighton and Hove Albion host Liverpool this Saturday. The fact that the Reds aren’t playing well this season gives hope to the hosts, who aim to make another spectacular win and continue their solid campaign. Overall, the Seagulls play interesting and attractive football, with plenty of goals and chances. The same applies to Liverpool, but what spoils the fun for the Reds’ fans are very poor results in Jurgen Klopp’s unit record. Liverpool is far from the title race, and even the top-four zone might be of their reach.
Brighton
The Seagulls played five games following the World Cup tournament. They’ve won three and lost two. The first loss was against Charlton, in the Carabao Cup, following the penalties, and the second in the EPL against Arsenal, 2-4.
They’ve got three victories, two in the English Premier League, over Southampton, 1-3, Everton, 1-4, and most recently against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup, 1-5. All of these events were on the road, and that’s why the Seagulls want to post the first triumph at their Amex in the New Year.
As said, Brighton plays interesting and very efficient football. In eight of the past nine competitive games, we’ve seen both teams scoring, and the same games all ended with at least three goals. To be more precise, seven finished with at least four hits.
Liverpool
As soon as we started thinking that the Reds could accelerate and reach their form from a few years ago, they began wasting points. After losing in the Carabao Cup to Man City in the first game since the World Cup, 3-2. Liverpool was victorious against Aston Villa on the road, 1-3, and Leicester at home, 2-1.
Klopp’s unit was looking good in both events, but on the very next one, the former champs were knocked out in Brentford, 3-1, and then played 2-2 against the Wolves in the FA Cup at Anfield.
All five events since the restart were with at least three goals and with hits on both sides of the pitch. Four of these five contests saw four goals, which is yet another proof of Liverpool’s offensive style of play, and its struggle in the back line.
Brighton & Hove Albion: Sanchez; Lamptey, Dunk, Colwill, Estupinan; Caicedo, Gross; March, Mitoma, MacAlister; Ferguson
Liverpool: Kelleher; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Gomez, Robertson; Keita, Bajcetic, Henderson; Salah, Nunez, Gakpo
The first meeting of the year was at Anfield, where both teams scored three goals, with the note that Brighton had a 0-2 lead and saved its skin seven minutes before the end.
This is a perfect meeting for a high number of goals, and our pick here is over 2.5 scores. As you see, the respective events of these two crews are very efficient, therefore, we expect to see plenty of excitement at Amex on Saturday.
Our verdict: Over 2.5 goals
