Prediction, Odds & Betting Tips for Brighton vs. Marseille at Europa League
The Seagulls and Marseille will decide who finishes first in Group B of the UEFA Europa League. For the moment, the French unit has a point more, which puts them in a better position. The stake is considerable – direct advance to the Round of 16, and not having to undergo the playoffs. Both units are more or less in a solid form, displaying good football with high efficiency.
Brighton
The Seagulls played 1-1 against Burnley this weekend, failing to flip the result against the Clarets despite having the initiative and excellent chances. If nothing, that was the seventh meeting in a row at Amex in which Brighton didn’t lose.
During this interval, we saw them record four draws and three victories. Only one of the past ten events in Brighton ended without both teams netting, while six saw over 2.5 hits.
The team had a slight crisis a while ago but managed to bounce back, regaining its form from the start of the campaign. When looking at the overall picture, Brighton lost only once over the previous ten meetings, having four draws and five triumphs.
Marseille
The way the former European champions ravaged Lorient on Sunday night on the road, 2-4, made us think about this team. They had high hopes before the season started, yet the elimination from the Champions League playoffs immediately created problems. It seems that plenty of new players didn’t have time to click back then.
Fast forward a few months, and Marseille looks like one of the contenders for winning this competition. If they keep playing like over the past two weeks, anything is possible. The French powerhouse has four straight victories, netting 13 goals combined and producing a pair of clean sheets.
Though away from Velodrome, we haven’t seen Marseille that confident recently. In the past five road meetings, they have had two wins and losses and one tie.
Brighton: Steele; Veltman, Dunk, Igor, Gross; Baleba, Gilmour; Adingra, Pedro, Mitoma; Ferguson
Marseille: Pau Lopez; Clauss, Gigot, Mbemba, Renan Lodi; Veretout, Gueye, Ounahi; Sarr, Aubameyang, Harit

The first clash saw a draw, 2-2. Marseille had everything in its hands, scoring twice inside two minutes during the first half. However, the guests came back in the second half, equalizing in the finish, with Joao Pedro converting a penalty.
Both of these units have an offensive approach, looking to score as many goals as possible regardless of the result. Brighton will attack right from the start, which is their strategy at home, while on the other side, Marseille won’t back down. All this said, over 2.5 goals is our suggestion.
Our verdict: Over 2.5 goals
