Prediction, Odds & Betting Tips for Chelsea vs. Aston Villa at FA Cup
Chelsea has a very busy week because of its cup obligations. After clashing with Middlesbrough two days earlier, the Blues will have another contest at Stamford Bridge, only this time, the rivals will be Aston Villa. Unai Emery’s boys are one of the best English teams this season, and they want to win at least one trophy. FA Cup seems to be the best possible target for the club from Birmingham.
Chelsea
Until the game against Middlesbrough, the Blues have won four of the previous five meetings across all competitions. Overall, they have had six triumphs and only two defeats in the past eight games.
Oscillations are Chelsea’s biggest characteristic since the start of this season, and even though this hasn’t changed, the head coach, Mauricio Pocketing, is safe for the moment.
When playing at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea’s results are excellent, having six consecutive victories before meeting Middlesbrough. In each but one, the Blues have scored at least two goals, and that’s been the case in the majority of the clashes in front of their own fans since this campaign kicked off.
Aston Villa
The Villains did slow down a little bit compared to the previous part of the season, but are still playing at a very high level. They couldn’t beat Everton in the most recent Premiership appearance, 0-0, yet even one point from Goodison Park kept the positive atmosphere in the locker room.
In the past ten outings across all competitions, Aston Villa has four victories, four ties, and only two defeats. During this stretch, seven games have seen both teams scoring.
We have to remind everybody that Unai Emery knows how to play cup matches and that he already has ten trophies in elimination competitions – three Europa Leagues, among others.
Chelsea: Petrovic; Gusto, Disasi, T Silva, Colwill; Caicedo, Fernandez; Madueke, Gallagher, Sterling; Palmer
Aston Villa: Martinez; Konsa, Carlos, Lenglet, Moreno; Zaniolo, McGinn, Luiz, Ramsey; Diaby, Watkins

Aston Villa was better than Chelsea in the first game of the year, which, by the way, took place in London. It was a minimal victory for Emery’s boys, with Ollie Watkins netting in the 73rd minute. Malo Gusto was sent off for Chelsea in that meeting.
This was the fourth straight meeting with under 2.5 goals and just one side netting in their direct clashes.
Even though many believe this will be a closed and pretty conservative meeting, we have a different opinion here. These two sides are very dynamic and have extreme speed in all the areas on the field, which is why we picked both teams netting.
Our verdict: Both teams to score
