France vs Germany is arguably the biggest game of the opening round. Read our preview and get some helpful info that might assist in winning some easy money.

France and Germany are among the most prominent contenders to win the EURO 2020 title. They are also in Group F, along with the reigning champions Portugal, forming one of the toughest assemblies in the history of this tournament. We just need to remind you that these two sides are the last two World Cup winners, which pretty much says everything about the significance of this battle. Also, whoever losses in this one will have a hard time catching up in the race for the next stage, which adds even more tension.

France vs Germany  Preview

France

The current World champs are coming to this tournament with all the players who won the title in Russia. Mbappe, Pogba, Kante, Griezmann, Giroud, etc, all of them are in the squad.

France didn’t lose in the past seven games, winning six of them and recording a draw against Ukraine, 1-1. Didier Deschamps didn’t change anything in his system. The Gauls have an incredibly fluid team, able to transform from defense into attack in a matter of seconds, and that is their biggest strength.

The defense has been marvelous lately, keeping clean sheets in the previous four games. Overall, in all the big and important matches, France is looking to protect its goal first and attack later.

Germany

This is the last tournament for Joachim Low, who steps down from Die Mannschaft’s head coach position following EURO 2020. He decided to bring back some of the players who retired from the national team and add more experience to this unit. Germany began a rebuild, but it didn’t go as planned, which is the reason why Low had to make this move.

The four-time World champions have certain oscillations, and losses against North Macedonia, 1-2, and Spain 6-0 prove that.

Still, once they get into the rhythm, there aren’t too many teams in the world able to answer. Basically, they are trying to play like Bayern Munich, meaning to use the wingers and wing-backs and to perform an unreal pressure on the rival’s defense.

France vs Germany Head to Head

The latest two clashes between these sides were in the 2018 UEFA Nations League edition. The first match in Germany saw no goals, while the second one in France ended with the hosts winning, 2-1.

The Germans haven’t won against their bitter rivals in the past five clashes, with their latest victory coming back in the 2014 World Cup, 1-0, in the quarterfinals.

France vs Germany Pick

We believe that the French team has better chances to win in this battle. Their defense is far better than Germany’s, which is why betting on them seems to be a better option. On the other side, Low’s side has been allowing too many goals, and what is more important, they have been doing that against mediocre teams. The Gauls have arguably the fastest attack in the tournament led by Mbappe and Griezmann, and they should be able to score at least once and provide a difference.

Our verdict: France Win
