Prediction, Odds & Betting tips for the Glover Teixeira vs Jiri Prochazka at the UFC 275 fight.
UFC 275 is just around the corner. The main event of this spectacle is the bout between Glover Teixeira and Jiri Prochazka for the light heavyweight belt. The current champion, Teixeira, won that status in his last fight against Jan Blachowicz, while on the other side, Prochazka came to the UFC as one of the most decorated fighters outside the organization quickly rose to the rank of the challenger. Expect a violent war between these two, who have a completely opposite style inside the octagon.
Glover Teixeira
The 42-year-old became the second-oldest champion in the history of the UFC once he beat Blachowicz in the latest bout. He dethroned the Polish Power via submission so easily that it didn’t look real. Previously, Glover endured a few hard punches, but he ate that and reached the rival.
Teixeira is a fantastic wrestler, maybe the best in the organization, with his black belts in Kajukenbo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Once he gets ahold of his rival, the chances are low for the opposite side to get away. In 40 fights so far, he won 33 and lost seven.
Right now, Glover has six consecutive victories and didn’t feel a taste of loss since early 2019. Throughout that streak, he beat Roberson, Cutelaba, Krylov, Smith, Thiago Santos and eventually Jan Blachowicz. Now, all these guys are very respectable names in the division, a few of the title challengers, or a champion like Blachowicz.
Jiri Prochazka
The Czech fighter is an absolute sensation for those who didn’t follow his career outside the UFC. Those who know who BJP is, aren’t surprised at all with his results. This long, athletic, and very powerful guy was bound to reach this status because he simply has a natural gift for fighting.
Prochazka’s last loss was in 2016 when he lost to Mighty Mo in the Rizin World Grand Prix Finals. After that, he went on to win the light heavyweight belt, switch organizations, and is still undefeated. He needed only two fights in the UFC to earn a title shot. At first, he trashed Volkan Oezdemir at the UFC 251, knocking him out in the second round, and after that beat Dominick Reyes in the same manner.
A predominant striker, who has the agility and speed inside the octagon, Prochazka is very enjoyable to watch. He likes to mix his punches and combos and, from time to time, enter an open brawl.
Glover is a more experienced fighter, and we believe that he will use that advantage over the challenger at some point in the battle. With all due respect for Prochazka, only two fights in the UFC aren’t enough to win the title. Particularly as he didn’t face any of the guys who are on the rise, but Reyes and Oezdemir, who aren’t in some shinny shape. That’s why we pick Teixeira to win.
Our verdict: Teixeira
