High-flying Nerazzurri host Atletico in the round of 16 opening clash. The Italian team looks perfect heading into this event, posting nothing but wins lately. We can’t say the same for the Spanish unit, who struggles to get back on the winning track, losing back-to-back events and failing to score a goal during the same. Though, Simeone’s boys are always extremely dangerous when it comes to the elimination stages, with the Mattress Makers showing that in the past already.

Inter is one hell of a form because their latest victories were against top Italian teams. Inzaghi’s boys rolled over Roma in Rome, 2-4, and prior to that, beat Juve in Milan, 1-0, also recording victories over Fiorentina, Napoli, and Lazio, beating the latter two on their way to winning the Super Cup.

Nerazzurri allowed only one goal in the previous three home events, and over the past nine, we’ve seen them post six clean sheets, which is an excellent record, you need to admit. 

Atletico Madrid

The Mattress Makers are losing pace in the Spanish La Liga and they already suffered an exit from the Spanish Copa del Rey. The losses against Athletic Bilbao and Sevilla hurt not only the team’s ambitions but the morale as well, and we aren’t sure what the current state is in Atletico’s locker room.

Both of those failures had the same result, 1-0, and the problem for Simeone was a dull attack that didn’t provide anything worth mentioning. The crisis came at the worst possible moment, with UCL’s participation on the line. 

Atletico is mediocre on the road, having only three wins in the past 10 outings across all the competitions, winning three, losing six, and having one tie.
