The long-awaited clash between Adesanya and Strickland is finally here. These two guys have had a beef for a long time, constantly calling out one another, insulting, and talking all sorts of nonsense. They now finally have a chance to settle the differences inside the octagon. Izzy is the reigning champion, one of the most dominant in the UFC. Strickland is a controversial guy, but nobody can dispute his fantastic skillset and his show-making talent.

The Last Stylebender regained his throne at the UFC 287. He finally defeated Alex Pereira (in his fourth attempt) via KO, which was pretty spectacular. A right hook to the temple, and the Brazilian was already on the way to the la-la-land.

Izzy has 23 wins and two defeats, the second to Jan Blachowicz when he moved up the division to attack the light heavyweight belt. Other than that, Izzy is ruthless in his weight class. He defeated all the challengers (six title defenses), some of them twice like Robert Whittaker and Marvin Vettori, he was better than Yoel Romero, Paulo Costa, Anderson Silva, Derek Brunson, etc.

The Kiwi is a freak of nature with his unreal reflexes and very long reach. He moves inside the ring without any problems, using his explosiveness and speed. What also distinguishes Adesanya from other guys is his discipline during the fight, with him always following the game plan no matter the circumstances.

Sean Strickland

The hot-headed trash-talker is one of the division’s best, if not the best, boxer. He is also the most polarizing person in the UFC, but that’s why he sells PPV events pretty well. The output and the volume of his punches are fantastic, and even though he doesn’t have a one-punch KO power, he rips apart the rivals.

Strickland has 27 victories and five defeats. Two of them came in recent times, one a KO against Alex Pereira in the title eliminator, and later on a very controversial split decision to Jared Cannonier. The Tarzan bounced back with back-to-back victories over Nassourdine Imavov and Abusupiyan Magomedov.

Stricklan is a bit of a one-dimensional fighter, as his wrestling isn’t at an elite level. He likes to crush his rivals on the feet with his hands, and apart from that, his offensive versatility is limited. His chin is excellent, but there are some doubts about it following the bout against Pereira.

Izzy has a nice opportunity for one more successful title defense because Strickland is his favorable matchup. The Tarzan doesn’t know how to wrestle, and his reach is shorter than Izzy’s, which should be enough for the champ to defend his throne.
