Prediction, Odds & Betting tips for Liverpool vs. Tottenham at EPL
Both the Reds and the Spurs are in the middle of a painful period which, hopefully for their fans, ends at the end of this season. The two teams are in the upper part of the standings with slim chances of reaching the UEFA Champions League. Liverpool’s campaign has been a roller coaster, with Klopp’s unit having massive oscillations, one day beating the United 7-0 and on the very next losing to relegations strugglers. Tottenham’s experience is the same, with the Spurs being inconsistent, then losing the head coach and eventually suffering humiliations and painful losses at the end of the season.
Liverpool
Jurgen Klopp still hopes that his team might jump all the way up to the fourth position in the Premiership standings. The German stated that the Reds won’t give up on this even though the chances of this scenario unfolding are low.
In 15 Premier League games played at Anfield, Liverpool posted 10 wins, with four draws and only one loss, netting 39 times and allowing 13 goals. Apart from losing to Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League, the Reds’ previous defeat here was in late October.
Liverpool’s games at home are efficient, with four of the past five ending with at least four goals, while Reds netted at least twice in the previous six.
Tottenham
After a 6-1 defeat to Newcastle, the interim head coach, Cristian Stellini, was the target of the media, the boards and the fans. Again, the Spurs are making all the wrong moves, because this guy isn’t to be blamed for anything. The roots of the problems are much deeper.
Anyhow, the Spurs are playing terrible football on the road at the moment, not winning in the previous seven events, losing five times and posting two draws.
The players are without motive, as their former leader, Antonio Conte, stated in a recent interview, and the whole group looks flat no matter the circumstances and the situation.
Liverpool: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Jones, Fabinho, Henderson; Salah, Nunez, Jota
Tottenham: Lloris; Porro, Romero, Dier, Perisic; Kulusevski, Hojbjerg, Skipp, Danjuma; Kane, Son
The Reds took all three points from the Tottenham Stadium in early November, winning 1-2. They are without a loss to this team for the past 11 games, losing the last time in 2017.
Nine of the previous ten games at Anfield saw both teams netting.
Liverpool is in poor shape but is still better than Tottenham, who is going to collapse until the end of the campaign. All the pressure, combined with other factors, will lead to a chaotic finish to the season for the Spurs. That’s why picking the Reds here is the right choice.
Our verdict: Liverpool wins
