Prediction, Odds & Betting Tips for Liverpool vs. Wolves at English Premier League
The Reds are more than in need of a win here. Their confidence is still shaky, and the team has to get out of the New Year’s madness unscathed. Otherwise, they won’t even reach the UCL spot, let alone get back in the title race. On the other hand, Wolves are dead last and are en route to the Championship, possibly as one of the worst teams in EPL history.

Liverpool
Arne Slot bought some time with the recent games, especially wins on the road against Inter and at home vs. Brighton. However, that’s not nearly enough for the fans and the board to restore confidence in the Dutch manager, who completely missed the spot during the transfer deadline.
Salah is gone now, and believe it or not, we find that well for the Reds, because of the obvious discordance between him and the rest of the unit. The Egyptian’s absence will suit Wirtz well, who plays much better without him in the mix.
Liverpool’s home results in the EPL are far from convincing: the Reds have 5 wins in 8 games, but 2 losses and a tie, scoring only 13 goals and allowing 9. Not near last year and those before.
Wolves
After 16 matches, this team had only two points. They are on pace to become one of the worst teams in the history of the EPL, and even though it’s still early on, the Wolves are going to the Championship, and there’s no question about that.
Looking at the away games, Wolverhampton played 8, posting 7 losses and a tie. They allowed 14 and scored a miserable two goals, which is beneath every decent level of play.
We can’t say anything positive about their game. Wolves have the worst attack and defense in the league, and to be honest, the players themselves have talent, but their morale is terrible.
Liverpool: Alisson; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Mac Allister, Gravenberch; Chiesa, Jones, Wirtz; Ekitike
Wolves: Johnstone; S. Bueno, Agbadou, Toti; Doherty, Gomes, Krejci, Andre, Wolfe; Arokodare, Hwang
The Reds have won five in a row over Wolves, and in each, they’ve scored at least twice. This pretty much shows that they like this rival. Last year, the reigning champs beat Wolverhampton with the same result, 1-2, on both occasions.
No matter Liverpool’s current shape, they are far better than Wolves, who are several levels beneath Slot’s crew. We expect a swift, confident win, with the Reds solving everything in the opening 45 minutes. That’s why we pick Liverpool to score two or more goals in the first half, with the odds on that being pretty good.
Our verdict: Liverpool Over 1.5 HT
