Prediction, Odds & Betting Tips for Manchester City vs. Liverpool at English Premier League
The fact that Man City’s title race is over won’t present a big deal for Guardiola’s side in this one. Their motive is always the biggest possible when meeting Liverpool because of a special rivalry that has developed over the last few years. Guardiola knows that a win here would be a huge morale-booster for the upcoming matches and challenges.
Manchester City
The Citizens are heavily unpredictable this year, and there are many reasons why we say this. The first was a loss to Real at home 2-3, and the second was a 4-0 victory over Newcastle days later. No need to say more than this. Their oscillation range is shown through these two results.
City is currently fourth and intends to stay there or go up if possible. their goal for this year is to reach the Champions League zone and secure a spot in the most prominent competition in the world. The competition is very tough as Bournemouth, Chelsea and Newcastle all stalk the Citizens.
The games they play at the Etihad are very efficient, and the last five have seen four or more hits. City’s defense allows too many goals, so it’s no wonder the Citizens conceded at least a goal in seven of the previous ten events in front of their own fans.
Liverpool
Arne Slot and the boys have seven points more than the second-placed Arsenal, which is showing signs of struggle as the season goes by. Unlike them, the Reds are keeping the pace confidently and pushing towards another title.
However, we must admit that Liverpool slowed down on the road a bit, with them failing to win the previous two outings. The first was a huge sensation in the FA Cup against Plymouth, 1-0 for the hosts, and the second was a 2-2 tie in the Merseyside Derby.
They’ve recovered fast, beating the Wolves last weekend 2-1. One more thing we need to mention here is that the Reds don’t have any major injury issues.
Real Madrid: Courtois; Valverde, Asencio, Rudiger, Mendy; Camavinga, Tchouameni; Rodrygo, Bellingham, Vinicius; Mbappe
Liverpool: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Jones, Diaz; Nunez
The first game of the year took place at Anfield, where Liverpool routinely beat their big rivals 2-0. Gakpo and Salah were the scorers for the hosts.
Liverpool looks solid, and so is City at home. The big question here is who will recover from mid-week’s games faster. Both teams had tough challenges. Liverpool’s bench has more depth, and above that, the guests look in slightly better form than the Citizens. However, we won’t pick them to win here, yet go with over 1.5 goals in the second half.
Our verdict: Over 1.5 second HT
