Prediction, Odds & Betting Tips for Manchester City vs. Manchester United at English Premier League
Manchester Derby is on the menu this weekend, with both units coming off mid-week FA Cup games. Surely, that won’t be an alibi in case of a defeat or an unexpected result. City is chasing the title, while on the other end, United wants to reach one of the top four places, which would lead them to the Champions League. The champs have a home-court edge, which they exploited in the best possible way in the previous three meetings.
Manchester City
The Citizens are on the rise, with them posting nothing but success lately. Apart from a draw against Chelsea, all of their results have been victorious. Even against the Blues, the game could end with them winning, yet Haaland and the boys couldn’t convert the initiative in the final minutes.
De Bruyne is back, and Haaland is back, meaning that Guardiola has all his best players at his disposal. The Belgian midfielder significantly upgraded Man City’s game, and his return brings both quality and confidence.
City has five wins and one draw at home in the recent six appearances, with four victories coming without a goal allowed. The defense is slowly stepping up as well as time passes.
Manchester United
United was excellent until the last weekend, when they lost at home to Fulham, 1-2. That ended a five-game winning streak, which aroused the fans, igniting their hopes that the team might pull out some miracle and even take one trophy at the end of the year.
However, a heartbreaking loss to the Cottagers, which came in the stoppage time, blew away all of their dreams. It’s something that could deflate the Red Devils, and for sure, not a good intro for the upcoming challenge.
United’s recent games away from home were good, and until last week, we’d seen them triumph in five consecutive games, netting at least twice in each of those events. Also, four of them were with both teams scoring and over 2.5 goals.
Manchester City: Ederson; Walker, Dias, Ake; Rodri, Stones; B Silva, Alvarez, De Bruyne, Doku; Haaland

The Citizens were quite confident in the first meeting of the year when they triumphed 0-3 at Old Trafford. There wasn’t too much drama in that one, with Haaland scoring twice and Foden confirming the win. It was the third straight victory for City in direct encounters.
United is a big club, but in recent years, they really haven’t been at City’s level in any aspect of play. The hosts are massive favorites in this game, and anything else but their victory will be a huge surprise.
Our verdict: Manchester City wins
