The closing game of this English Premier League round will be held at the Etihad Stadium. The reigning champions, Manchester City, will host Tottenham Hotspur next Sunday. The Spurs opened the championship very well, but they collapsed after James Maddison’s injury. Despite recording back-to-back ties against Chelsea and Liverpool, the Citizens look confident and in control of the situation. Their record at the Etihad Stadium was perfect until the meeting against Liverpool, with the Citizens posting seven victories and 20 goals scored during that stretch.

This team doesn’t have De Bruyne in the lineup, yet their efficiency isn’t dropping at all. The reason is, of course, Haaland, but we need to mention Julian Alvarez too, whose playmaking skills are impressive.

Tottenham

The Spurs can’t recover from James Maddison’s injury. The newcomer from Leicester was the crucial player for Ange Postecoglu’s unit, and his absence is evidently hurting the team from London.

The Spurs have three straight defeats, and even though the opponents were pretty tough, we can say that they are in a crisis. Tottenham’s offense is doing a solid job, but it is obviously weaker than before.

On the other hand, the efficiency of the Spurs’ games is still pretty high, with the most recent four ending with over 2.5 goals and both teams scoring. Unlike the early start of the year when Son and the crew managed to cover up the mistakes of the back line, they aren’t able to do that now.

There’s simply no way for Guardiola to calculate anything against the Spurs, regardless of their current status. They are currently a few points behind and present a threat.
