Prediction, Odds & Betting tips for Manchester United vs. Chelsea at English Premier League
We can’t get rid of the impression that Manchester United and Chelsea disappointed the most this year. Red Devils because of their scandals with Ronaldo and failing to compete for the title; and the Blues, due to an amazing amount of money wasted for nothing and a couple of managers sacked. United still has certain chances of reaching the UEFA Champions League, while on the other end, Chelsea is in the middle of the standings wandering around and waiting for the season to finish.
Manchester United
The main problem for United were games on the road, as they couldn’t find the proper strategy for them since the beginning of April. It is why this squad got eliminated from the UEFA Europa League, and besides that, we’ve seen them wasting too many points in the domestic league, reaching into problems and allowing Liverpool to come close and attack their top-four position.
The positive thing is the performance at Trafford, where United didn’t lose for seven months. Over the past dozen appearances at home, they would triumph on ten occasions and post two ties.
In all the victories, Manchester scored at least twice. On the other side, they had five clean sheets in the most recent seven games, indicating that the defense is also doing its part of the job.
Chelsea
After playing with City, the Blues have another challenge in Manchester, this time against United. Things aren’t bright for the guys from Stanford Bridge, with everything falling apart and them missing the international stage next year.
Frank Lampard can’t do too much for his former team. This is the worst season for the Blues since Roman Abramovich walked in at Stamford Bridge. The Russian oligarch was forced to sell the club last year, and ever since, Chelsea has been in the mud.
Since mid-March, we’ve seen them win just once, and in the meantime, failing to score a goal in a vast majority of the events. On the other hand, the defense has been fragile, allowing multiple goals on constantly.
Manchester United: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Lindelof, Shaw; Casemiro, Eriksen; Antony, Fernandes, Rashford; Martial
Chelsea: Kepa; Azpilicueta, W. Fofana, Silva, Chilwell; Kante, Fernandez, Kovacic; Ziyech, Felix, Sterling
Believe it or not, the recent five games were without winners, with the latest three ending with the same result, 1-1. The opening event at Stamford saw Jorginho breaking the lock in the 87th minute and Casemiro leveling in the fourth minute of injury time.
The Red Devils are tired, but so are the guests, who don’t have any motive to play. Chelsea really looks tired and flat, and that’s understandable, so United needs to take advantage of that and get an easy three points.
Our verdict: Manchester United
