Prediction, Odds & Betting Tips for Real Betis vs. Nottingham Forest at Europa League
Nottingham Forest opens its international adventure against Betis on the road, in a game that highlights the entire round. Betis reached the Europa Conference League finals last season and has high hopes in this competition as well. On the other hand, Forest wants to make a good impression and, if possible, claim this title.
Real Betis
The Spaniards opened the La Liga championship pretty poorly, with them posting just one win in the opening five matches. It was against Alaves, 1-0 at home, but apart from this event, we haven’t seen them playing some particularly good football. Even then, Verdiblancos were not particularly impressive.
The notable thing is that the efficiency of Betis’ matches is moderate, meaning there are 2 or 3 goals involved. Three of those five games saw such an outcome. Also, the game against Alaves was the only one in which they haven’t both allowed and conceded a goal.
Real Betis lost some of the players this offseason, like Rodriguez and Cardoso, but there are plenty of replacements. However, the most important thing is that Anthony secured a permanent deal.
Nottingham Forest
The Forest is in terrible shape. Losing to Swansea, 3-2 in the EFL Cup last Wednesday, is the climax of a cold stretch that now sees the Swans not winning 4 in a row, losing the past three. What’s more important is that the defense looks broken into pieces.
Forest conceded three goals in each of the losses, one at home to West Ham and the other on the road to Arsenal. What used to be their biggest strength in the past is now a huge weakness.
Replacing Espirito Santo with Postecoglou is a measure they had to take, but for the moment, the situation stays the same. Sure, Forest lost some players, like Elanga, compared to the previous season, but their current performances are way worse than expected.
Real Betis: Valles; Bellerin, Natan, Gomez, Firpo; Fornals, Altimira; Antony, Lo Celso, Riquelme; Hernandez
Nottingham Forest: Sels; Savona, Milenkovic, Murillo, Williams; Anderson, Yates; McAtee, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi; Wood
The Verdiblancos and Forest met in 2018 in a friendly game, which saw the Spanish team win 1-0.
Betis has been in a pretty shaky form, and so has Forest. This is the start of a new competition, and both teams would like to do that properly, meaning they will be cautious for sure. That’s why we expect a bit of a conservative approach from both coaches, which should result in a moderate efficiency, 2 or 3 goals.
Our verdict: 2 or 3 goals
