Prediction, Odds & Betting Tips for UFC Fight Night: Tom Aspinall vs. Marcin Tybura
Tom Aspinal had a freaky accident in his last bout, which he lost, thus slowing his way up through the ranks in the UFC heavyweight division. His rival in Saturday’s event will be the Polish veteran Marcin Tybura, who wants to catch the last chance for a big battle in the organization. Both of these guys were in solid shape over the recent period and have high hopes for this clash.
Aspinall
Tom Aspinall badly hurt his knee in the 15th second of his previous appearance inside the octagon, handing Curtis Blaydes a triumph. This was supposed to be his last test before big-time spectacles. The Brit now has to repeat some of his successes and reassure the organization of his qualities.
Aspinall had eight wins in a row before this misfortune and the majority via stoppage. Some of his most notable victories were over Alexander Volkov, Sergey Spivak, Andrei Arlovski, etc. For many, he really was the biggest star on the rise in the division.
The 30-year-old is a strong guy, maybe not as heavy as some other guys, but he still has a large and muscular frame. Aspinall is very talented both on the mat and on his feet. His fists possess a KO power, and nine of his 12 victories came via knockout. All of his 12 victories were via stoppage. On the other side, Aspinall has three losses, one each by KO, submission and disqualification.
Marcin Tybura
The Pole is seven years older than his rival, and that’s why he has more fights in his bio. In 31 octagon appearances, Tybura posted 24 wins and seven losses. The victories were almost equally divided, nine via KO and by a decision and six after submission.
Tybura’s experience is massive, and he fought guys like Volkov, Werdum, Lewis, Aburakhimov (losses) and Struve, Arlovski, Harris, Rothwell, Romanov, and Ivanov (wins). He went up and down the division, meeting almost every possible style of fight.
Unlike Aspinall, Tybura is far less explosive and athletic, but his cardio is excellent as we saw him boing to the distance in five of the past seven events.
Aspinall is faster than the Pole, which will be a decisive edge in this country. Tybura won’t have a chance to defend appropriately against Aspinall’s punch-takedown attempt combos. Also, the Brit will have a fiery crowd behind him, which undoubtedly boosts the morale. That’s why our pick here is Aspinall.
Our verdict: Aspinall
