Prediction, Odds & Betting tips for Denmark vs Croatia at the UEFA Nations League.
Denmark and Croatia meet in the Round 3 of the UEFA Nations League group 1. It is one of the most interesting games of the entire week because we have two sides that need to win. The situation in the group is intense, and three points are imperative, especially for Croatia, who had terrible results in the opening two contests, both at home. On the other side, Denmark is in solid shape, yet they will need to continue posting solid performances, otherwise, they could easily slip down, despite them being holding the top spot now.
Denmark
The Danes have three wins in a row right now. After beating Serbia in a friendly international at home, 3-0, they posted back-to-back wins in the opening rounds of the UEFA Nations League. The first was in Paris, against France, whom they beat 1-2, and the second to Austria, also on the road, with the same result.
Denmark easily cruised through the World Cup qualifications, finishing first in their group and confidently securing the ticket to Qatar. They play powerful football, with lots of running and a high tempo, so it is no wonder why their events bring lots of goals.
This unit is extremely sharp at home, and in the last 10 games, they have 10 wins, meaning that the Danes use the home-field advantage almost perfectly. In all but one of those events, they’ve scored at least two goals, in the majority of cases even more.
Croatia
After suffering quite the unexpected loss to Austria in the opening round, Croatia saved its skin against the World champs, and their big rivals, France in round 2. They would equalize in the 82nd minute, from a penalty for 1-1, getting one point, and saving some chances for staying in the A league.
Austria blew away the runners-up from Russia, 0-3. Apparently, Croatia underestimated the rivals, not starting with the best lineup, which in the end came back like a boomerang. It was the first loss on their soil since late 2020.
That defeat is the only one for the Croats in the recent eleven games. Throughout that stretch, Zlatko Dalic’s unit posted six wins, three draws, and one defeat. Four of their past five road games were with just one side netting, and three of them were with under 2.5 scores.
The most recent game between these two sides was at the World Cup in Russia, where Croatia beat Denmark in the Round of 16 following the penalties. The result in the regular 90 minutes was 1-1.
If you all remember back then, Modric missed a penalty in the finish of the extra times, but eventually, the Croats prevailed and went to the quarterfinals.
Denmark: Schmeichel; Vestergaard, Andersen, Nelsson; Maehle, Hojbjerg, Delaney, Damsgaard; Eriksen; Skov Olsen, Cornelius
Croatia: Livakovic; Juranovic, Vida, Caleta-Car, Barisic; Modric, Kovacic; Vlasic, Pasalic, Orsic; Kramaric
The hosts are in better shape, and they are coming back home following a two-game trip. Their fans always create a very good atmosphere at home, and if you look back, they are one of the most confident teams in Europe when playing in front of their own fans. That is why we bet on Denmark’s victory.
Our verdict: Denmark wins
