Prediction, Odds & Betting tips for Phoenix Suns at NBA
Two of the top favorites for winning the Western Conference, the Denver Nuggets and the Phoenix Suns, clash this Friday. This game could have a massive impact on the final order in the standings, especially because the hosts need to win and avoid any complications before the end of the regular part of the season. Meanwhile, the Nuggets seek a victory to cement their place on top of the conference and also send a message to all the rivals that they rule the West.
Phoenix Suns
Kevin Durant is still out, and there are some hints that the former NBA MVP could return to the floor in the first week of April. Without him, the Suns struggle, which is logical. KD is one of the best players ever, and in order to get him, Monty Williams gave several pretty important players, thus shortening his rotation.
Up until the last Tuesday, the Suns were 4-6 in the past 10, not looking convincing, as stated before. Their defense isn’t as hard as before, and on top of everything this, Deandre Ayton had to skip some games due to his injury trouble. Though, back-to-back victories at the start of this week at home against the 76ers and in Utah boosted the morale.
Devin Booker didn’t adjust to playing without KD nor his former teammates who were traded for him, but he still manages to drop 28.1 points each night. Ayton adds 18.2 and 10.1 boards.
Denver Nuggets
Joel Embiid ran away from Nikola Jokic at the Ball Arena, which increased Joker’s prospects of winning the third consecutive NBA MVP award. The Serb posts nearly a triple-double per game, 24.9 points, 11.9 boards, and 9.9 assists, all that without even chasing the stats, but looking to involve all of his players.
The Nuggets will be tired in Phoenix because of the game against the New Orleans Pelicans, which took place less than 24 hours earlier, but that can’t and won’t be an alibi for a potential failure.
When playing away from home, the Nuggets are barely above the .500, with 19 wins and 18 losses, which isn’t great, but their home record covers all that. Right now, they have three and a half games edge over the Grizzlies, who are second in the West.
This is the third of four direct encounters between the Suns and the Nuggets this year. Both previous were in Denver, and the hosts used the home-court edge in each, 128-125 and 126-97.
We will pick the Suns here for several reasons. They have a much bigger motive than the Nuggets,, who are safe in the first place, while the Suns endure heavy pressure from the teams behind them. Also, fatigue will be Denver’s big problem, as well as average results on the road.
Our verdict: Phoenix Suns win
