Prediction, Odds & Betting tips for Inter Miami vs. Columbus Crew at USA MLS
Inter Miami won’t have Lionel Messi until late July, but they are still the best-covered team in the MLS right now. Partially that’s because of Messi, but on the other hand, their other moves are forcing the media to watch every move this franchise makes. The latest two were the signing of Sergio Busquets and the head coach “Tata” Martino. As for Columbus, the hype surrounding them is nowhere near Inter’s, but Wilfried Nancy’s boys are doing their job well.
Inter Miami
The signing of Tata Martino is a big boost for this unit. With Messi and Busquets already inked, Martino’s signature only confirms that Miami has massive ambitions. He worked with both players in Barcelona and with Messi in Argentina. Martino knows how to win trophies, and among others, he won an MLS Cup with Atlanta United in 2018.
Though, his new team is in problems sitting dead last in the conference standings, having numerous losses one after another. The unit’s chemistry is terrible, and the overall morale isn’t that great. Messi and Busquets won’t debut before late July, and that’s another problem for Inter.
More than 70% of their recent events have seen at least three goals, in most of them with Inter conceding at least two hits. The same goes when we look at the numbers for both teams scoring.
Columbus Crew
The Crew is in the playoff zone but pressured from behind, and all the competitors are after the same goal – the postseason. Lately, the team has played well, mostly posting wins and collecting points. Throughout June, they had five MLS appearances, winning four and having one draw.
In all of the victories, the Crew hit the back of the rival’s net at least twice, while the same number of events ended with both teams netting.
Away from Columbus, the team isn’t that confident, but they managed to put together two in a row without losing, 1-2 win in Chicago and 1-1 draw in New York vs. City.
Inter Miami: Callender; Yedlin, Kryvstov, McVey, Negri; Ruiz, Fray; Jean, Cremaschi, Stefanelli; Martinez
Columbus Crew: Room; Zawadzki, Moreira, Amundsen; Farsi, Zawadzki, Nagbe, Yeboah; Matan, Ramirez; Hernandez
The year’s first meeting was in Ohio, where Inter won, 1-2. It took place on April 29, with Campana netting a brace in the first half, while Chuco scored for the home unit, also in the first 45 minutes.
The game will be fun to watch, because both teams play openly without some defensive tactics involved too much. That’s why our pick here is over 2.5 goals.
Our verdict: Over 2.5 goals
