Prediction, Odds & Betting Tips for PSG vs. Borussia Dortmund at UEFA Champions League
We’ll see PSG again chasing the deicit from the first meeting, but they are now in a better position than in the previous round. Borussia, however, is not in the same situation. The Millionaires are up, which wasn’t the case against PSV and Atletico Madrid, though, they played on the road first legs, unlike now.
PSG
One small mistake cost PSG a lot at Signal Iduna Park. On the other side, they didn’t have any luck in the attack. PSG produced several incredible chances, two woodworks but no goals.
When playing at home, the team from Paris is more or less ruthless. They had just two losses since the start of the campaign. In just a few, Mbappe and the boys haven’t scored at least twice, and that’s what they need now.
Five of the past seven events at Parc des Princes saw over 2.5 goals, and in all of them, the hosts netted two or more hits. This is encouraging for the Saints’ fans.
Borussia Dortmund
The Millionaires have exceeded all expectations and to be honest, not many believed in Borussia’s win this Wednesday night. The team looked very focused and poised. They haven’t committed any mistakes we used to see in the past so frequently.
It was a massive upgrade following a demolition in Leipzig the weekend before, 1-4. Maybe they didn’t play 100% against RB, but anyway, this was a completely different Borussia from the one we saw against PSG.
After ten road games in a row in which Dortmund didn’t lose, we saw them falling twice in the past three events. After Atletico Madrid, 2-1, they were better than Borussia in Monchengladbach, 1-2, and then got rolled by RB.
PSG: Donnarumma; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Beraldo, Hernandez; Zaire-Emery, Ruiz, Vitinha; Dembele, Ramos, Mbappe
Borussia Dortmund: Kobel; Ryerson, Hummels, Schlotterbeck, Maatsen; Sabitzer, Can; Adeyemi, Brandt, Sancho; Fullkrug
As stated, the first meeting ended 1-0, with Fullkrug netting the only goal of the game once he avoided an offside trap. PSG tried to level the score but was unsuccessful.
The two met in the group stage this season. The first meeting in Paris saw the host’s 2-0 win, while the second in Dortmund was a tie, 1-1. PSG and Borussia met in the 2020 knockout stage when the French unit eliminated the Millionaires – 2-1 for Borussia at Signal Iduna Park but 2-0 for PSG in France.
Borussia has problems when playing away from home, and they showed that on multiple occasions this year. We suggest betting on the hosts here, and for those who want to take risks, take PSG to qualify for the next round.
Our verdict: PSG wins
