Prediction, Odds & Betting tips for Bayern Munich vs. Barcelona at UEFA Champions League
Bayern Munich will host Barcelona at the Allianz Arena in the biggest matchup of this week’s UEFA Champions League events. These two teams are the elite echelon of world football, being one of the most decorated on the European continent. We don’t need or want to spend too much of your time mentioning Bayern and Barca’s trophies. They both come into this event following respective wins in the opening rounds.
Bayern Munich
Another kick in the teeth for Bayern happened this weekend, once they played 2-2 at home against Stuttgart, who leveled the score in the stoppage time from the penalty. It is the third consecutive Bundesliga game where the champions played a draw and the second at Allianz without a win.
That will wake up Julian Nagelsmann and the boys, who were very good in Milan against Inter but couldn’t keep up at the same speed on Saturday. Though the damage isn’t that big, as Bayern practically doesn’t have any competition in Bundesliga. They are at least two classes above all other teams.
Bayern has one win, and two draws at home, with the previous two events seeing both teams netting. It seems they enjoy playing on the road more than at home because their results away from Munich are superb.
Barcelona
Blaugrana started the La Liga championship with a draw at home against Rayo, 0-0, but after that started smashing the rivals, winning five games in a row and scoring at least three times in each of those events.
In those five victories, Xavi’s unit kept three clean sheets, allowing two goals while scoring 20 on the other end. That should tell you how good football this team plays. Barcelona is clinical upfront with Lewandowski, who is coming back home shortly after leaving this summer.
All the games but the one against Rayo were with three or more goals, meaning that Barca again plays efficient football. Away from home, the Catalonian unit has three wins with a goal difference of 11-1.
Barcelona: Ter Stegen; Araujo, Kounde, E Garcia, Balde; Gavi, Busquets, Pedri; Dembele, Lewandowski, Raphinha
Bayern Munich: Neuer; Pavard, De Ligt, Upamecano, Davies; Kimmich, Goretzka; Gnabry, Müller, Sane; Mane
Bayern and Barca played in the previous UCL campaign and were also in the group stage. Both events saw the Germans winning without any trouble, with the same result, 3-0. Prior to that, Bayern eliminated Barcelona in the 2020 edition in Lisbon, beating them 8-2 and delivering one of the biggest losses Barcelona ever experienced.
Bayern Munich vs. Barcelona Prediction
We should see a highly efficient game here because both teams have fantastic attacks, and have been in excellent form since the campaign kicked off. On the other hand, the respective defenses aren’t as strong as other areas in the teams, therefore both teams to score and over 2.5 goals is our best pick for this spectacle.
Our Verdict: Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals
