Also, we can’t forget that Saiss, the captain and the most important player on the defensive side, had to go out early on.

Morocco is an ultra-defensive squad, and they showed that throughout the World Cup, allowing just one goal until the semis. The problem for the African unit was that France opened their lock early on, which changed the entire course of the game.

All but two of their past 10 games were with under 2.5 gals, and throughout that span, nine ended with one side netting.
