Prediction, Odds & Betting Tips for Manchester United vs. Bournemouth at English Premier League
On This Page
The Red Devils are in poor shape, with a run of bad results. On the other hand, Bournemouth is in solid shape and overall plays above expectations. The Cherries arrive at Trafford without pressure, hoping to repeat some of their historic moments. Meanwhile, United could lose its manager if they fail to take three points on Sunday.

Manchester United
Michael Carrick is on the hot seat. No matter what the media says, United’s manager feels heat from all sides: the board, fans, and the public. And how wouldn’t he, with all the negative results the Red Devils posted recently?
United haven’t won in their past 6 matches, with three losses and three draws. They’ve already suffered an elimination in the EFL Cup, opened the Champions League with a loss to Atletico, and kept just one clean sheet since the start of the year.
That’s why their results have been poor. Defensive issues have haunted the Red Devils over the past two years, and the management hasn’t done anything to fix them.
Bournemouth
After two straight losses, one to Liverpool and the other to Chelsea, the Cherries bounced back. First, they rolled over Sturm in the Europa League, 3-0, then beat Sunderland in the EPL, 2-0.
Good execution and back-to-back clean sheets have boosted Bournemouth’s morale, which has oscillated since the season kicked off.
What’s problematic for this unit are the performances on the road. Bournemouth won in just one of them, against Sociedad in the UEL, 1-2. Other than that, two defeats and one tie. But the interesting thing is that all the games were efficient – both teams scoring & over 2.5 goals.
Manchester United: Lammens; Dalot, Maguire, Martinez, Yoro; Baleba, Mazraoui; Fernandes, Diallo; Mbuemo, Cunha
Bournemouth: Petrovic; Smith, Hill, Silva, Truffert; Adams, Christie; Tavernier, Cook, Rayan; Evanilson
We’ve seen two fantastic matches last year between United and Bournemouth. The first at Trafford was 4-4, and the other in Bournemouth was 2-2. Believe it or not, Manchester didn’t win at home against this rival since 2023, posting two defeats and one tie.
Also, 7 straight at Old Trafford have seen over 2.5 goals.
First of all, we aren’t going to bet on United’s win, even though all the experts suggest that. Simply, they are unstable, and their “imperative” to win isn’t enough reason for us to stake money on their triumph. Goals will be in our focus, because Bournemouth both scores and concedes on the road, while United does the same no matter the venue.
Our verdict: Over 2.5 goals
