Prediction, Odds & Betting Tips for Liverpool vs. Chelsea at English Premier League
The Reds and the Blues collide on Sunday night at Anfield. Is there a better way to end the weekend than to watch this spectacle? We think not. Liverpool is on fire, and if it was up to them, this pause wouldn’t have happened. The same goes for Chelsea, who simply clicked in the past few weeks, showing all of its offensive potential.
Liverpool
Liverpool won nine of the recent ten clashes. The sole loss was to Nottingham at home, 0-1, but that didn’t disturb Arne Slot’s unit, which went on to beat the next six rivals. In each but one event, Liverpool netted two or more hits.
When we look at their productivity during the entire season, we have to admit that the Reds kept the same output as under Klopp. And to be honest, in some aspects, Liverpool looks even better.
The Reds’ defense is also effective. They have kept six clean sheets in 10 matches this year and are currently in back-to-back games in which their rivals haven’t conceded.
Chelsea
The Blues have started the season slowly, but over the past few weeks, we have seen an explosive evolution of this unit. Cole Palmer and his crew have become maybe the most interesting team to watch in Europe, and we need to admit Chelsea looks fantastic.
The Blues’ goal difference would be even better if it weren’t for Nicolas Jackson, who wasted plenty of good opportunities. Nkunku is still finding his spot and form, but as the season goes by, we expect the French forward to blend in and catch his groove.
The latest game Chelsea played was against Nottingham 1-1, but prior to that, the Blues scored 16 goals in four appearances.
Liverpool: Kelleher; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Endo; Salah, Szoboszlai, Diaz; Jota
Chelsea: Sanchez; Gusto, Badiashile, Colwill, Veiga; Fernandez, Caicedo; Madueke, Palmer, Sancho; Jackson
Chelsea and Liverpool played three times last year. The first meeting at Stamford ended 1-1; the second and Anfield saw the Reds trashing their rivals 4-1, and the third was the EFL Cup finals, in which Liverpool won following the extra time, 0-1.
This game is bound to provide goals. Yes, Liverpool is closer to winning here because Chelsea won’t have Cucurella and Fofana, but we won’t pick that yet over 3.5 hits. The odds for this are very good, and in our opinion, this pick has considerable value. Over 1.5 goals in the first 45 minutes is another suggestion for those willing to take a certain amount of risks.
Our verdict: Over 3.5 goals
