In those three consecutive victories, we’ve seen them beating Tottenham, Everton, and Southampton, scoring at least three goals in each event, for 13 overall throughout the run. Eddie Howe’s attackers clicked at the perfect time, pushing the club upwards in the standings. 

Newcastle plays powerful and ruthless football at home, not allowing the rivals to impose their tempo and style of play. The single defeat at St. James’ Park since the start of the calendar year came at the hands of Liverpool, 0-2. 

Arsenal

The Gunners’ title hopes disappeared throughout April. At first, they played 2-2 on the road in Liverpool and at West Ham, on both occasions having a two-goal lead and allowing the rivals to come back. After that, we’ve seen them posting another draw, 3-3, at home to Southampton. 

And then came the grand finale and a high loss to Manchester City at the Etihad, 4-1. It was the fourth consecutive Premier League event without a win for Arteta and his team, meaning the Citizens jumped over them, taking the top spot.

Six of their previous events saw both teams netting at least four goals, which suggests that Arsenal plays interesting and exciting games. Unfortunately for the fans, not effective.
