Prediction, Odds & Betting Tips for PSG vs. Inter Milan at UEFA Champions League
The Champions League finals kick off on the last day of May. PSG and Inter Milan clash to decide which team will take the most prestigious club trophy in the world. Per football odds, the Saints are light favorites. That won’t mean a thing for Inter, which was already in the underdog status many times this season and managed to stay on top.
PSG
The Saints have been fantastic this season. PSG secured the title long ago, so it had time to focus on the UCL and put all of its effort there when needed most. Luis Enrique formed a fantastic team, despite what many believed when Kylian Mbappe left.
The French champions play interesting and efficient football. Only one of the previous ten meetings across all the competitions has failed to deliver both teams’ goals. However, in most cases this year, PSG won those games with their attack netting twice or more.
PSG has incredibly fast players upfront, which is why it can produce super-quick transitions, counters, and scores. Plus, they have Kvarachelia, who is one of the best dribblers in today’s football, ready to create space and a chance for him and others as well.
Inter Milan
Nerazzurri slowed down in the past few weeks, probably because their title race in Serie A took too much power. A 2-2 tie against Lazio was deflating and stressful, and many fans were disappointed with the outcome.
Inter’s defense isn’t that good these days. Prior to the last weekend, it managed to post just one clean sheet in 10 previous contests, which suggests it’s in crisis.
Though Izaghi’s boys got used to adversity, and this game will be a superb chance for them to rise up and erase all that happened in the past with yet another UCL title.
PSG: Donnarumma; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Mendes; Ruiz, Vitinha, Neves; Doue, Dembele, Kvaratskhelia
Inter Milan: Sommer; Bisseck, Acerbi, Bastoni; Dumfries, DiMarco, Barella, Mkhitaryan, Chalhanoglu; Thuram, Martinez
Interestingly, these teams have met five times since 2014, all in club friendly matches. After three wins in a row, PSG lost the last two, most recently in 2023.
Inter will rely upon counter-attacks and transition, as it has throughout the entire year. Meanwhile, PSG’s tactics include possession and dictating the pace of the game through it. That’s the way Luis Enrique likes to play. Both teams have slight problems in defense, but overall, we give an edge to PSG because they look more consistent and are well-rested compared to Inter, which was tough last weekend and the previous several weeks in general.
Our verdict: PSG wins
