Prediction, Odds & Betting Tips for Atletico Madrid vs. Barcelona at La Liga
On This Page
Several weeks ago, these two battled in a chaotic Copa del Rey semifinal where Atletico managed to advance on aggregate despite a 3-0 second-leg loss. After this battle, the two rivals will square off in the Champions League quarterfinals too. Now, the stakes are high for Barca here, which needs to win and maintain its gap over Real. Meanwhile, Atleti is in a much more comfortable position, as they don’t have anything to battle for in La Liga, practically already securing the UCL spot next year.

Atletico Madrid
Atletico Madrid is coming off a narrow 3-2 loss to Real Madrid in their last outing. Though, there was an international break after that and we are pretty sure Simeone’s guys have forgotten about that defeat.
Recently, Atletico has been ruthless at home, posting 6 straight wins. In each but one of them, Simeone’s team netted two or more times. And just to add that all but one event saw at least 4 hits, with four of them concluding with Over 4.5.
We do expect to see Simeone mixing the lineup a bit, because he has a Champions League clash against the same rival next Wednesday.
Barcelona
Hansi Flick’s Barcelona has been a juggernaut this season, netting a staggering 78 goals in 29 La Liga fixtures. They are one of the best Spanish attacks in recent years.
Barca’s domestic form is fantastic, with 17 wins in the previous 19 games in the national championship. They are also excellent when looking overall, not losing a single one of the past 8 contests, triumphing in 7, and posting one tie.
Flick has injury problems, but for the moment, Blaugrana manages to overcome them and stay on the right path. Raphina’s absence will surely be felt in this one.
Atletico Madrid: Musso; Molina, Pubill, Hancko, Ruggeri; Koke, Gallagher, Baena; Lookman, Griezmann; Julián Alvarez
Barcelona: Joan García; Koundé, Cubarsí, Martínez, Balde; Casadó, Pedri; Lamine Yamal, Olmo, Torres; Lewandowski
The first La Liga clash was at Barca in early December, with the home team winning 3-1. After that, the two met in the Copa del Rey, where Atletico won 4-0 at home, and they managed to squeak into the next round, losing 3-0 at Camp Nou. Just one game in the last 7 didn’t end with over 2.5 goals.
We will follow the tradition here and bet on high efficiency. Barcelona has to get out and attack, and be sure that Atletico won’t allow the rivals to impose their style at Metropolitano. That’s why the best pick here seems to be BTTS and Over 2.5 goals,
Our verdict: BTTS & Over 2.5 goals
