We bring a short preview for the EURO 2020 game, Spain vs Sweden, with odds and pick which might help you choose the winner.
A whole new chapter for the Spanish team began. The Red Fury sent one completely new squad to the EURO 2020, and we can’t wait to see its ceiling. Sweden comes to the championship without their biggest name, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who picked up an injury in the worst possible moment. It leaves Blagult without so many options on the field, but they have no other alternative but to move on without Zlatan. The game takes place at Estadio de La Cartuja in Sevilla.
With Sergio Ramos out of the squad, Spain doesn’t have a single player who participated in winning the World and two European championships. The head coach Luis Enrique made certain changes, and so far, it seems that they give good results.
Spain has four wins and four draws in the past 8 games, and during that span, they would humiliate Germany, beating Die Mannschaft 6-0. On the other hand, the Red Fury played 1-1 at home against Greece.
Enrique made a team that is perfect when it comes to technique and tactics. The Spaniards keep the ball in their feet and don’t allow the rivals to have any possession, which is what Barcelona used to do when Enrique led Blaugrana.
Blagult has five consecutive victories at the moment, allowing just one goal in all of them while on the other side scoring 10 times. Though, we need to say that the Sweds’ opponents were mediocre or below-average sides, like Estonia, Finland, Armenia, or Georgia.
Victor Lindelof and Emil Forsberg are the two biggest stars on the roster, but one other name particularly attracts our attention – Dejan Kulusevski. Juve’s forward is one of the most talented players in Europe, and his recent COVID-19 infection may be a massive setback for Sweden.
Right now, Kulusevski is their biggest weapon upfront, and a lot of things depend upon his contribution. Against Spain, he will certainly be out, which isn’t sure for the other two group-stage games.
Spain: Simón; Jordi Alba, Pau Torres, Laporte, Marcos Llorente; Fabián Ruiz, Rodri, Thiago; Oyarzabal, Morata, Ferran Torres
Sweden: Olsen; Augustinsson, Helander, Lindelöf, Lustig; Forsberg, Ekdal, Olson, Larsson; Isak, Quaison
Both Spain and Sweden were in the same qualifying group for this EURO. The Red Fury had no trouble dismantling Sweden at home, 3-0, while the second leg played at the Friends Arena in Solna ended without winners, 1-1.
To be perfectly straightforward, we expect to see the replay of the qualifiers here. Spain is at a much higher level of play than Sweden, which hasn’t been properly tested recently, and we expect to see them crashing hard following this reality check.
Also, don’t expect too many goals in this event. Spain will try to take the ball away from the rivals, who don’t have the resources to prevent that. If you find our suggestion to bet on Spain’s win too risky, under 2,5 goals might be a better solution.
