Prediction, Odds & Betting tips for Edwards vs. Usman at UFC 286
The third bout between Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman occurs in England because Rocky defeated Kamaru the last time they met. With him being the champion, the organization had to arrange for him the fight back home. We need to say that Edwards had a bit of luck in the second event, but with the crowd behind him in this event, his chances to win are very good. On the other side, Kamaru is highly motivated. The former champion will give everything in his power to reclaim the throne and prove that he is the best in the division.
Leon Edwards
Rocky has been an underdog and under the radar for a long time. His injury problems and bad luck that caused some pretty strange situations, have slowed his accent toward the top. However, everything ended up nicely for the Englishman.
His high kick took the belt overseas, though, we need to admit, Edwards didn’t look well in that second bout. Usman dominated throughout the entire time and was confidently leading on the scorecards. Edwards couldn’t impose his own tempo, and even though his cardio is among the best in the UFC, he looked flat against Usman.
Rocky has 20 wins and three defeats (one via disqualification). Ten of those victories were via decision, seven by knockout, and three via submission. His notable victims were dos Anjos, Nate Diaz, and Donald Cerrone, Vicent Luqute and Bryan Barbarena.
Kamaru Usman
The Nigerian Nightmare was arguably the most dominant fighter in the UFC until he suffered a KO against Edwards. Yet Kamaru wasn’t that disappointed after the fight and was pretty relaxed in front of the reporters, stating that he expects to regain the belt very soon.
Usman was rolling over Edwards, creating problems for him on the mat, and constantly outwrestling the rival, who couldn’t defend takedowns and was later very, very tired.
Usman has two defeats in his career and 20 victories. He defended the title five times after winning it against Tyron Woodley at the UFC 235. Twice against Colby and Masvidal and once against Burns. Apart from these guys, Usman holds victories over Rafael dos Anjos, Damien Maia, Sean Strickland, and many more.
This will be the third battle between these two rivals; the current score is 1-1. Edwards was better at the 278, while Kamaru won way back in 2015 at the UFC on Fox.
Usman is a better fighter, and as much as we love Rocky, he won’t win this one. Kamaru is highly motivated, and we believe that his cardio and focus and power are over the roof right now. Simply, this time, he won’t allow Edwards to have luck.
Our verdict: Kamaru Usman wins
