Josh Emmett is a veteran, but even so, with his 38 years of age, he is still very competitive in the octagon and is a problem in the division. Yes, he did lose to Rodriguez via submission, snapping his five-match winning streak, which saw him posting some exciting performances.

Emmett is a strong puncher whose hits inflict massive damage to the body. He loves to bomb his rivals with hook and direct, often focusing on one spot and hitting it all day. In 21 appearances in the octagon, Emmett racked up 18 wins with three losses, which eventually earned him the status of one of the best featherweights.

Even though his age is close to 40, Emmett’s cardio is solid. It’s not impressive, but well enough to keep him going after a rival until the final horn. His chin is ok as well, but we need to add that Emmett likes open brawls, and he often eats a high volume of punches.

Topuria

The guy from Georgia has 13 wins in 13 appearances, which makes him one of few guys in the UFC with a perfect record. His last five bouts were in the UFC, and apart from the opening one against Youssef Zalal, all were triumphs via finishes.

We need to admit that Topuria didn’t have some big names against him. Bryce Mitchel, whom he defeated at the UFC 282, was his most valuable victim, so we can say that Saturday’s event was the most significant achievement in his career. Previously, Topuria defeated Jai Herbert, Ryan Hall, and Damon Jackson.

Like all the guys coming from Georgia, Topuria’s grappling and wrestling are elite, and the majority of his victories came because of that. He’s very aggressive on the mat and rushes toward his rival all the time, looking for that one chance to lock him and drag him to the ground.
